Summary

October is nearly here, which means that, at some point, in the spooky month, the final DLC expansion forAlan Wake 2will be released.Officially titled “The Lake House” expansion, the upcoming DLC fromRemedy Entertainmentwill round out Alan Wake 2’s year of support, with “Night Springs” already having been released, along with a physical edition being revealed.

Not much is known about The Lake House outside its release window. The FAQ on Alan Wake 2’s official website provides some hints, though certainly nothing extensive.

The Lake House is a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake set up by an independent government organization to conduct secret research… until something goes wrong.

Explore the Lake House, and embark on an adventure as the realities of the Pacific Northwest and the Dark Place collide again.

That said, thanks to Petri Alanko,a Finnish composer, who’s worked on myriad Remedy games, includingControlandQuantum Break, as well as Alan Wake 2, we know that “amazing stuff” is on the horizon.

The Lake House Has Alanko In His Feels

Taking to Twitter, thelong-time video game composershared that he had been editing vocals for the upcoming DLC. Alanko called it “the hardest thing I’ve ever run into, ‘cos the feels - I’m crying constantly.” He added, “Absolutely amazing stuff coming. I wish I could say more.”

In a follow-up, Alanko said he is afraid that “no one else will get the same emotions from That Track or if anyone will ever even hear it.” He added that it isn’t “hidden,” and that he had planned to deliver a final mix, but simply couldn’t. Whatever the track may be, it sounds like fans will be in for quite an emotional ride.

Only 16 days separate us from October, meaning whatever Alanko and Sam Lake are cooking is quickly approaching. Hopefully, we’ll be able to hear “That Track” and experience the same emotions that he did.
