Gene-Seed is a collectible inWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. It can only be found in Operations. Once acquired, it increases the amount of XP earned by all squadmates (including the player) by 30 percent. Since XP is directly tied to unlocking the best perks, weapons, upgrades, etc., the benefits of finding a Gene-Seed in an Operation cannot be overstated.

Unlike other collectibles, like Dataslates, Gene-Seeds are not always found in the same spot. In each Operation, there are multiple locations that you will need to search for when trying to find a Gene-Seed. However, the real challenge begins after you have successfully found one.

Replaying various Operations in Space Marine 2 to acquire collectibles like Gene-Seeds.

What Are Gene-Seeds?

The most important thing to know about the Gene-Seed is that theperson carrying it cannot die. If this happens, the Gene-Seed is permanently lost for the current mission, andeveryone loses the 30 percent XP multiplier. This is why it is important to keep the player carrying the Gene-Seed alive.

You should also note that theGene-Seedand theGuardian Relicshare thesame inventory slot. This means that the player holding the Gene-Seed cannot possibly get the Guardian Relic. We recommend looking at the inventory of your teammates to see who is holding the Gene-Seed and plan your strategy accordingly.

Replaying the first Operation: Inferno to acquire various collectibles such as Gene-Seeds.

As mentioned earlier, Gene-Seeds are not always found in the same spot. There area few set locations in each Operationwhere one could spawn, so it is good practice to search these spots whenever possible.

Remember thatonly one player in the squad can collect the Gene-Seed. If it is already collected by someone, the rest of the squadmates will not see it.
