UPDATE: 19-06-2025 23:13 BST - Asmongold has stated ina Reddit post on his official subredditthat he won’t stop covering controversial topics in gaming, claiming that his content won’t change “other than trying to be more positive and less mean-spirited”. He also claimed that he’ll “react to a DEI=DIE gaming video” on his first stream back.
Asmongold had hisTwitchaccount temporarily suspended earlier this week, following comments he made regarding Israel’s war with Palestine. During a stream, Asmongold claimed that he didn’t feel sorry for Palestinian people affected by the conflict, calling them “terrible people” from an “inferior culture”.
After a massive backlash ensued and his Twitch account was suspended,Asmongold released a statement via his Twitter accountin which he said he was being “way too much of an a**hole” at the time and promised to “do better” in the future. The statement didn’t do much to quell the anger of many on social media, so Asmongold has now released an apology video via his YouTube account addressing the situation, and to explain his plans for moving forward.
Asmongold Speaks Out Following Twitch Ban Over Palestine Comments
In the video, Asmongold starts by confirming that he was banned from Twitch for his comments on Palestine, and thanks people for calling out his behavior, as it was something he claimed was “a long time coming” and “something that I needed”. he then goes on to say that he thinks his comments at the time were “disgusting” and apologized for making “no effort” to draw a distinction between his hatred for religious extremism and the death of people in Palestine.
He then starts commenting on his own behavior over the past couple of years, claiming that family and friends have been telling him to calm down his comments online for a while, and is thankful that he’s now had to deal with some accountability for his actions.
I’ve been slowly devolving into the most mean-spirited, rude, nasty, callous, psychopathic version of myself.
Asmongold then starts to lay out his plans for moving forward, regarding both his content and how he chooses to behave on streams and in videos. For starters, he claims that focusing on streaming has had negative consequences and has started ruining his life, and says he’s going to cut back on streaming a little bit in the future. He also comments that a lot of his streams feature him “laughing at people”, and wants to start creating videos about things he enjoys.
Other changes to his behavior that he mentions in the video are to get a normal sleeping and streaming schedule sorted out, watch his tone when criticizing people, visit the Middle East to see how things are for himself, and step away from OTK and his PC company, Starforge Systems. He even claims that he’s going to try and clean some of his house, a part of his life that people often mock him for on social media.
Finally, Asmongold talks about how he wants to improve his life for those that see him as a “role model”, and wants his fans to “hold him accountable” if he goes back on any of his promises or starts acting the way he used to. He hopes to kick all of this off when Twitch eventually unbans him, and that he’ll talk more about his personal goals on his next stream.
