Astro Bothas been one of the best games to launch this year, giving us some great platforming, fun abilities, and great callbacks to PlayStation biggest games and consoles over the years.
However, there are some things we still don’t know about the mysterious little bot. Where did he come from? Is he a messiah to other bots? And how many other beings will he murder to save his own kind? However, instead of asking the important questions, some players just want to know how tall he is.
Is Size Subjective In The Astro Bot Universe?
One fan decided to open up the topic on the Astro Bot Subreddit. They seemed a bit confused as they wondered how a whole DualSense controller could fit into a PlayStation 5. The Subreddit immediately got to work, combating the little bot to his surroundings to get an accurate height.
The first comment suggested that the PS5 spaceship and controller are much larger than their real life versions, altering the overall perspective. He may be around two feet tall, slightly taller than a standing PS5 console.
Other comments agreed with this observation, stating that the PS5 spaceship would need to be much larger to house all those bots and the other consoles we see at the end. Plus, there’s no way it would break a planet’s atmosphere and reach outer space if it’s normal sized.
Others brought up Astro Bot’s previous adventures. Thanks to the VR aspect of Astro Bot Rescue Mission, you could actually reach out and touch him. Based on this experience, some comments assessed that he’s anywhere between four to five centimeters tall.
It’s really tough to come to a conclusion, given that Astro Bot has changed in size between games, and there’s no fixed size of objects in the latest game to compare.
However, the most damning evidence of his height was given by ShadowGamer, who pulled up an image ofAstro Bot’s card from the PlayStation Limited Edition Top Trumps Cardgame. According to this card, the little robot is 0.9 feet or 30 cm tall.
We’re not sure if these stats are old or if they still stand, but it seems to be the clearest and most official source of information on his size.
Apart from wondering about his height, manyfans also wondered why there were no Final Fantasy references in the game. “It’s difficult to comment on that,” said Team Asobi head Nicolas Doucet in an interview. “We really respect the choice of each publisher.”
