Astro Bothas jumped into the hearts of long-time PlayStation fans with its myriad of references, engaging platforming, and fun gimmicks. It has easily made its way onto the game of the year lists of many. However, despite its cutesy presentation, it’s definitely not a walk in the park.

While the main levels are pretty easy and fun to get through – especially the ones themed around various PlayStation IPs – the bonus levels are no joke. There are quite a few of them that will make you tear our antenna out, but fans have agreed upon the hardest one – Splashing Sprint.

There’s No Escaping That Wall Of Fire

While most of the bonus levels are quite tricky, especially compared to the regular ones, Splashing Sprint has been giving a lot of player grief, and is one of the main hurdles to getting a Platinum trophy. If you’ve got only one bot left to rescue, there’s a big chance they’re at the end of this level.

While getting over the initial pool of lava is no big deal, it’s the horizontal, moving pillar of fire that most players can’t seem to deal with. The pillar moves pretty fast, giving Astro no time to reach the safe zone without getting his circuits fried.

It seems the trick is to ensure you’re already at full sprint when you pick up the duck. Astro Bot usually takes a few seconds to build up momentum, so you either need to carry on in one swift movement, or try running around in circles for a bit before picking up the duck. The problem is that even if you manage to pass this hurdle, the rest of the level is no cake walk.

One of the comments mentioned thatthere is a way to cheese the level, and miss the wall of fire entirely. Punching while in the air gives you a bit more distance, so combine that with your double jump from the first glass platform after the pool of lava to reach the platform after the wall of fire.

You know what would have helped with this level? If Astro Bot was a bit taller. Speaking of which, fans have been trying to determinejust how big the little bot is. While some believe that his PS5 spaceship is proportionate to a real one, that would make him mere centimeters tall. Others believe that the PS5 spaceship is much bigger, making him much larger.
