Summary
To celebratemods finally coming to console, Larian Studios teamed up with Spud Gun Studios for an official animatedBaldur’s Gate 3short, bringing back the talented cast for a quick round of Dungeons & Giant Rabbits.
The three-minute cartoon sees a modding wizard wreaking havoc on the titular Baldur’s Gate, even messing with our party. Gale gets a bleach blonde Smash Mouth haircut and a glock, Karlach has a pot shoved onto her head, Let Me Solo Her-style, and Shadowheart throws up rainbows.
For the uninitiated,Let Me Solo Her is an Elden Ring playerwho took on the hardest boss in the game for over 1,000 people.
To fight back against the evil of a hobbyist who doesn’t care about immersion, the horror,Wyll whips out a lightsaber cutlass, Astarion procures some purple flames, and Shadowheart brandishes a magic baguette. But of course, the baguette isn’t nearly enough, and she’s quickly turned into a cat woman. you may watch the entire video here:
Worst Of All, Lae’zel Gets A Human Nose
One ofthe defining characteristics of a githyankiis their small, flat nose. Lae’zel even mocks the usual humanoid snout, but ever since launch, there have been plenty of mods that yassify the cast and strip away their unique features.
The most popular of which, innocuously titled"alternate faces", gives Lae’zel a range of human noses… it looks wrong.
Foul sorcerer, you have gone too far!
So, it’s only fitting that Larian Studios would poke fun at these modders in the new animation, giving Lae’zel a humanoid nose just to watch her panic in real time. But she gets her revenge with an Evil Dead-style chainsaw hand, just as Vlaakith would have wanted.
