Summary

Baldur’s Gate 3has eight romance options, butthere’s one that fans have been after for months: Jaheira. This battle-hardened druid has some very dedicated fans, although none more so than her actor, Tracy Wiles. Alongside other fans, Wiles has made it clear that she would love Jaheira to be a romanceable character in Baldur’s Gate 3, and has finally received a reply from the game’s director himself, Swen Vincke.

Alas, his reply is short and straight to the point: No. So,Larianisnotsecretly cooking up an hours-long Jaheira romance arc for its future patches. The group mom remains unkissable.

No, We’re Not Getting A Jaheira Romance

Vincke said this in response to Amelia Tyler, Baldur’s Gate 3’s narrator, who’s been hanging out with Wiles. Here, Tyler tweeted, “Please GOD give Jaheira a romance”.

This prompted Vincke to reply with, “God says no”. He’s not beating around the bush at all.

Now, when the possibility of a Jaheira romance is brought up, some naysayers like to point out that she was already married and references her husband several times throughout the game. To that, I counter that it’s been more than 120 years - I think she’s ready to put herself out there again. She was also a romance option in Baldur’s Gate 2, meaning she was happy to hook up with someone before Khalid was in the ground. Hey, I’m not judging! We all mourn in our own way.

But it’s perhaps that latter point that complicates matters. If someone got with her in Baldur’s Gate 2 and played as a character who could still feasibly be alive in the third game, they might have been a bit miffed to see her make a pass at someone else. At the very least, this means that Jaheira lovers can go back and play the second game if they want their fix. But everyoneshouldjust go and play it regardless. It’s fantastic.

While future Baldur’s Gate 3 updates aren’t going to let us get it on with Jaheira, wedidjust get a huge patch that added a bunch of new content. This includesnew evil ending cinematics,as well as mod support.
