Summary

ABaldur’s Gate 3modder has added a new origin to the game, letting your custom character be a vampire. This also grants you some vampiric abilities, much like fellow group vampire, Astarion.

The mod, simply called Vampire Origin, works with either a custom character of The Dark Urge, with the abilities that it grants levelling up alongside you. You even gain new abilities with level-ups, making this useful both gameplay-wise and for roleplaying.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Lets You Create Your Own Vampire Character

Vampire Origin creator Lux_Aurea gives us a detailed explanation of what to expect with the mod over onits Nexus Mods page. Here, we get a rundown of the abilities we’ll start with, which include vampire bite, claw attack, and the ability to turn into a gaseous form. You are, however, vulnerable to radiant and fire damage, as you’d expect.

Another neat feature is that you can turn others into vampires, presumably referring to other party members. So, with this mod, you might be able to form a whole squad of bloodsuckers.

Youcanstill play as a vampire without mods in Baldur’s Gate 3. The obvious answer is to play as Astarion since he starts off the game as a vampire. But if you want to play as a custom character, you can get this too, as long as you don’t mind the wait. You’ll have to romance Astarion and make him the Vampire Ascendant, then accept his offer to turn you into his spawn. It’s, uh, not exactly a healthy relationship… but at least you can bite people now, I guess?

If you’re looking for other new ways to play Baldur’s Gate 3 right now, you won’t hurt for options. WithLarianaddingofficial mod support, the already large modding communityhas only grown. You can evendownload select mods on console now, and it’sproving incredibly popular.
