Summary

While there have been plenty of games set in theBatmanuniverse, none of the others have reached the heights set by the Arkham games. These titles excel in storytelling, combat, and atmosphere. They also really make you feel like you’re playing as Batman. This is why they’ve become the standard bearers for both Batman and superhero titles in general. In fact, comparison to the Arkham titles likely hurt the reception to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights. They just couldn’t escape Arkham’s mighty shadow.

So, it’s really a must-play series for any big Batman fan. Currently, Nintendo is giving you a chance to experience these great games by putting the main Arkham trilogy on sale. Usually, the trilogy on the Nintendo Switch costs $60. At the moment, though, it’s discounted 50 percent, meaning the three games are available as a direct download for $30. This deal is only available at Nintendo’s online store until July 24, 2025.

Those who have some knowledge about Arkham may point out that there are more than three games in the series. Therefore, which of them count as part of the trilogy? It is the three main Arkham titles: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight. This means a few spin-offs don’t make the cut. Most notably, though, the prequel Arkham Origins isn’t included. It’s just the main titles made by Rocksteady.

Batman: Arkham Trilogy

WHERE TO PLAY

The Batman Arkham Trilogy contains three Batman games: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight. Each one is an action-adventure title that follows Batman’s exploits as he tries to stop the evil plans of various evildoers and bring them to justice. This pack includes not only all three games but also their DLCs.

All three games in the Arkham Trilogy are exceptional in their own rights. Arkham Asylum isn’t as large as the others, as it isn’t set in a big open world. Yet, this actually helps with the atmosphere and pacing of the story. That said, the open worlds of Arkham City and Arkham Knight have their own positives. For example, they allow for plenty of side missions, which make use of Batman’s other villains that don’t always get enough of a spotlight, such as Mad-Hatter and Man-Bat. So, ranking one game as better than the others is hard.

This trilogy collection contains not only the three main Arkham games but also all the DLC. There is quite a lot of it, too, with Arkham Knight, in particular, having several additional missions. So, that adds extra value to this package and makes the $30 price tag all the more appealing. You’ve got until September 30th to decide whether it’s appealing enough for you.
