The Dagger and Crossbow build inThrone and Libertyis known as the Scorpion class. This is the ultimate assassination single target PvE and PvP build where you will use the crossbow as your main attacking weapon, while dishing out important dagger skills.
Utilizing both weapons' incredibly fast attack rate and skills that make off-hand attacks possible, they synergize perfectly with one another. Many skills with these weapons buff up and dish out off-hand damage, and as the only two weapons in the game with off-hand abilities, they excel in dispatching heavy damage very quickly.
Scorpion Build Identity - PvE And PvP Single Target
This dagger and crossbow build isdesigned around building up stacks of thundercloudsusingLightning Infusion (Inject Venom)andCleaving Moonlightand spending these stacks withThunderclouds Bombing (Brutal Incision)as soon as possible when 20 stacks are reached.
Lightning Infusion (Inject Venom)is obtained by going into Skill Specialization, choosingInject Venom, and choosing the Lightning Infusion upgrade. Obtain Thunderclouds Bombing the same way via theBrutal Incisionskill.
UtilizingLightning Infusion (Inject Venom)will allow you to gain stacks of Thunderclouds, then using rapid hitting skills likeQuick Firewith your crossbow and 2xCleaving Moonlightwill allow you to almost instantly get to 20 stacks and be able to slam down aThunderclouds Bombing (Brutal Incision)for big time damage.
Thecombination of just these four skills will be often enough to delete an enemy in a few seconds, while using a minimum amount of mana to be able to keep going from target to target. Of course, if you are moving fast enough through enemiesyou could run into mana issues, which is whereMana Exchangecomes into play.
Stat Priority
As far as character stats go, you will mainly be looking to build with this priority:
Dexterity will allow you to obtain some key bonuses forcritical chance, bonus damage, and movement speedup to 50 points while getting Wisdom to 50 will unlockcrucial mana regen and cooldown decreases. Perception is used as an overflow where you can obtain other stat effects to help boost your damage such ashit chance and buff duration increases.
Skill Upgrade Order
You will want to upgrade skills in an order that empowers the skillsyou use most often and in most fights, and, of course, maximize the damage output of your crossbow and daggers.
For each skill in the order given, level it up all the way to the next quality level before leveling the next skill in the list. UseQuality Active Skill Growth Books and Quality Passive Skill Growth Booksuntil all skills become blue.
If you’ve upgraded all skills in the build to blue quality already, then you can go ahead and craftRare Active Skill Books and Rare Passive Skill Bookswith any leftover green books you still have or receive.
Active Skill Upgrade Order
Here is the rough order you want to upgrade your active dagger and crossbow skills in:
Frenzied Sword DanceandWeak Point Shotare at the bottom of the order as they will be the last skills you unlock while leveling, and are already epic quality upon obtaining.
The 13 (including your Q abilityBlock Blade) active skills above should be the 13 skills on your action bar. If at any point during the leveling process, youdon’t yet have a skill unlocked that is next in your order, skip it and upgrade the next skill, until you eventually unlock it.
During the leveling process, you will not have all of these unlocked. Instead, feel free to use other skills in the meantime. you’re able to still upgrade other skills, as long as you are okay with using Skill Conversion Book to later convert the upgraded skill to one of these skills if you find yourself lacking in skill growth books.
Passive Skill Upgrade Order
Here is the rough order to upgrade your passive skills:
Similar to the active skills, upgrade in this rough order and if one of the skills is not available to you yet while leveling, skip it until it is unlocked.
Skill Specialization Choices
Take the following skill specialization options to optimize the build for the rotation discussed later:
Combat Rotation
Simple Combat Rotation - Easy Enemies
If you are out in the world PvEing such as completing Resistance Contracts, you will be able todefeat enemies in quick succession using a short burst of mana efficient skills. You should be able to complete just the following rotation and finish off the enemy. If it is not yet dead, thenyou can always toss in one of your other abilities or let one or two auto attacks finish it:
UtilizeMana Exchangewhenever you still have high health points and are to half or lower mana.
Longer Combat Rotation - Bosses / Elites
This will be your full combat rotation when you are in dungeons or fighting harder enemies that have a lot more health. Thisrotation is built on priority, not just any set order of skills.
Take this as the first skills are the most important to maintain, and later down the list are skills you throw in when the others are on cooldown:
