Summary

The best part aboutFinal Fantasy 16coming to PC is the fact that it becomes easily moddable as well, which has led to many people in the community making different types of mods for the iconic game to make it even better.

As Final Fantasy 16 has been plagued with a lot of performance issues since its launch, a lot of these mods are centered around optimization changes, but there are also quite a few options for players looking for customization additions and some minor gameplay changes as well.

8Natural Colors

The Natural Colors mod by instanity changes the lighting and colors in FInal Fantasy 16 so that they appear to be a lot more natural. If you want the game to look a little bit more realistic and darker, while also increasing its sharpness by a bit, then you should definitely try out this mod.

What’s even better about this mod is that it doesn’t change the performance of your game at all, which is one of our main complaints with most shader mods.

To use this mod, you will first have to download and installReShade, as it is the only way to install this mod.

7Basic Armor And Accessory Combinations

This mod brings a cool and unique addition to Final Fantasy 16 by combining the stats ofparts of the Eludian armorwith some accessories.

Some of the buffs this mod comes with include adding one Genji Glove effect to the Eludium Wristlets, one Ring of Swiftshot to the Berserker Ring, and many other similar changes that make these accessories a lot stronger and more fun to use.

Similar to the Natural Colors mod, this Cimmerian Reshade mod by VitaExNihilo focuses on making the colors of the game look a lot more realistic by changing the lighting, and making the darker areas look a lot better.

This is the perfect mod to improve the clarity of your game, and it is fairly simple to use and install as well, with the help of Reshade. It also doesn’t come with any performance issues from our experience with it.

5Clive’s Casual Clothes

We can’t make a Final Fantasy 16 mod list withoutincluding any clothing changes, as fans of this series love customization and different clothing options for the characters have led to some of the most popular mods in previous FF games.

This mod specifically removes Clive’s bearer and normal outfits and replaces them with different clothing options, consisting of a simple black and a white outfit, both of which look a lot lighter and a lot more casual.

4Basic Difficulty

Difficulty has been a controversial aspect of FF16 ever since it launched. Most fans of the series consider it to be one of the easiest entries so far, withmost enemies and bosses being relatively easy to kill. This mod fixes this issue, and makes it so that enemies can cause more damage, and makes it possible for more enemies to attack you at the same time.

Although this mod works perfectly fine from our experience, its creator does call it experimental and advises you to have multiple save files just in case anything goes wrong.

This is the perfect mod for players who want more of a challenge, and it can prove to be really difficult, especially if you’re playing on the hardest difficulty level already.

3Reduced Skill Cooldowns

The Reduced Skill Cooldowns doesn’t necessarily address a problem with the game. It just makes it a lot easier and fun to play by reducing the cooldown of all skills to be way shorter. You can either choose the three-second version of this mod, which will allow you to spam skills one after the other, and take your enemy out within seconds.

Or you can choose to go for the 50 percent reduction, which still makes the game easier, but isn’t too overpowered and still keeps the game competitive as well to a certain limit.

2Anti-Stutter - High CPU And Disk Priority

This mod by ChemBoy1 is one of the simplest but most effective mods we have seen in Final Fantasy 16. Performance has been one of the main issues for the PC port of this game, with a lot of players suffering with problems such as stuttering and frame-drops, which can completely ruin the gameplay experience.

With a simple registry edit, this mod improves performance, and helps the game perform a lot better on older CPUs, and stops most of the stuttering issues as well. Although this mod isn’t guaranteed to work for everyone, it is still worth trying out as it won’t have any negative impact on the game or your PC.
