Megaloot is a tough roguelike that requires skill and finesse to traverse its numerous floors. These require an enormous amount of both patience and strategy to get past, andhaving a good weaponis not the only thing you’ll need to succeed.
Gathering loot is essential in this game, and with hundreds of items to choose from, it’s easy to get lost in all the possible options. You are able to mix and match up to three different loot types in addition to the affinity type of whatever character you choose, for a grand total of four loot types. To make the decision a little easier for you, here are some great loot combinations that you can use in your adventure; whether you’re just starting out or a veteran trying to explore the highest floors.
Extra Attack
From Floor One
Two of the first sets that you will find are the golden and swiftness sets. This is an excellent early game pairing that will allow you to breeze through the first five floors. The Golden set will revive you once if you are beaten during the stage, and the Swiftness set will grant you an additional attack.
This is great for taking on many enemies, including tough ones, right from the start. While this set is a great early option as you find your footing, it will quickly become overshadowed by sets that you may access after advancing beyond floor five.
Triple Hit All Enemies On First/Second Turn
From Floor Five
The Etherquest set is incredibly overpowered, and an easy early pick up. This set alone is amazing, scaling ice attack as well as armor with each new piece added. But this is about combinations, and not specific sets, no matter how powerful they may be on their own.
Where the combo comes in, is after floor five, when you have access to the demonic set, which allows you to hit all enemies three times for the first and second turn. Pair that with Etherquest and you have an unstoppable duo that will last you for quite a few floors.
Applies Cleanse For First Two Turns
After being granted access to floor five, you will have the chance to collect the Royal set. This set is an interesting one as it will cast Inherited Sin on you, which you then have to cleanse from yourself before you can reap the benefits. The only current way is through the Silver set, which cleanses you for the first two turns.
Once these two sets have been paired together, that’s where the magic happens. Royal will cast Inherited Sin, Silver will cleanse that Inherited Sin, and it will leave you with a debuff immunity that will last for five turns. Now, if you’ve thought carefully about your other decisions, you can easily breeze through each level before making it to that fifth turn.
Triple Hit On First/Third Turn
The paring of the Etherquest and Demonic sets is so overpowered it had to come up again. Taking it a step further, though, you can pair the Etherquest and Demonic sets, then add the Hunter set on top.
This triple combination not only gives you the power to one-shot waves of enemies, scaling armor, and increased damage, but you’ve now got precision added to the mix. The precision that the Hunter set grants you, along with the critical damage boost, will take a combination already overpowered, to the next level.
+3 Stacks of Armorshield
Increase ATK Based on HP
Flesh is a set that focuses less on damage, and more on staying alive. This set will not only grant you more life, but also the ability to regain life, keeping you alive longer than with a different set.
Pair this loot with the Turtle set and you’ll be an unstoppable tank. You can use any sort of heavy damage with this one, like the Warrior set, but the height of this combination is not your damage, but how high you can tank through the floors at any given time.
Triple Hit On First/Second Turn
If you’re looking for swiftness and speed in your run through, look no further than the swiftness and leather sets. The swiftness set will allow you to double the number of your attacks, while the leather set will grant you an additional attack every eight floors.
This means that if you get to floor eight, and you have both sets active, your one new additional attack from the Leather set will become two thanks to the Swiftness set. Imagine you are on floor 88, and you attack an enemy 22 times each turn. Pair it with Demonic set for an even faster ending. With the addition of the Demonic set, your first turn won’t hit an enemy 22 times, but every enemy 66 times, ensuring a swift victory.
Various Stats
The demonic set is such a well-rounded set that it deserves a spot of its own. This set can be combined with any other set to make your game a walk in the park. Equip one item in the set, and you get yourself a triple hit on all enemies during your first turn, but equipping three in the set, and you’ll triple hit all enemies for the first two turns.
In other words, if you want to maximize the set’s performance, make sure you equip a three-piece-set as opposed to one. you’re able to easily combine this set with any other set in the game to create the perfect combo for you. This set is so good and so low maintenance that it can work in any build.
Additional Life
The early floors can be difficult to manage, as they can make or break your entire run. So it’s good to have a set that prepares you for anything. The Warrior and Golden sets are a great starter set to push you through those early stages.
That’s because the Warrior set grants you excellent attack and armor, while the Gold set grants you somewhat of a second chance at life. These sets are incredibly easy to come across, and they will push you forward with ease into the tougher levels.
