6Va’ruun Schimaz

The Va’ruun Schimaz is the only new melee weapon added to the game with the Shattered Space expansion. This weapon may be overshadowed when compared to themore powerful projectile weapons in the game, but still has a place when used effectively.
If you’re looking for a melee weapon to use, the Va’ruun Schimaz is still a viable option that deals strong damage at a slow rate. It can’t compare to the more versatile ranged options, but this weapon still has a place in Starfield’s arsenal.
5Va’ruun Quickstrike
Damage Type: Energy
The Va’ruun Quickstrike is a new sidearm added to Starfield with Shattered Space. As the name would suggest, this weapon can be fired rapidly, dealing quick damage to foes. The Va’ruun Quickstrike probably won’t be your main source of damage, but can be used to finish off weakened enemies from a distance or when out of ammo for your primary weapon.
Ammo for this weapon is plentiful, making this an effective backup weapon, and still viable even compared with the stronger weapons in the game.
4Va’ruun Starstorm
Damage Type: Physical And Energy
The Va’ruun Starstorm is a very powerful tool, only limited by the amount of ammunition that you have. That is the weapon’s major downside, and what stops it from being an option for every encounter.
The Va’ruun Starstorm is capable of dealing large amounts of damage in sustained beams after charging, making it an ideal choice for taking down the stronger foes the game can throw at you. Keep an eye on your ammo when using this weapon, as it can make quick work of your stores.
3Va’ruun Penumbra
The Va’ruun Penumbra is another of the heavy weapons added in the Shattered Space expansion, this one capable of creating large explosions that deal large amounts of area of effect damage. This makes it an effective tool when used in specific situations, but is not the weapon you’ll reach for in every encounter.
When it works well, you won’t need to rely on anything else. In every other situation, you’ll need to rely on backup weapons such as the Va’ruun Schimaz or Va’ruun Quickstrike.
2Va’ruun Longfang
Compared to the rest of the weapons added in the Shattered Space expansion, the Va’ruun Longfang is a balanced option that can be used in a wide variety of situations. The Va’ruun Longfang fires reliably in bursts of three rounds.
This makes it ideal for encounters at any range, only being overshadowed at longer distances by the Va’ruun Starstorm. In every other situation, the Va’ruun Longfang is a good choice for general combat without the pitfalls of heavier weaponry or less powerful sidearms.
1Va’ruun Starlash
The Va’ruun Starlash is a rifle added in the Shattered Space expansion, and is best usedat longer rangeswhere the slow rate of fire will be less of a hinderance. The slow rate of fire is offset by the amount of damage it can deal, and when used at a distance enemies can be dispatched from relative safety.
The Va’ruun Starlash can be used in closer encounters if needed, but can be overshadowed by the Va’ruun Longfang in those situations. At a distance, the Va’ruun Starlash is your best option.
