Summary

Pokemon Pocketis such a fast-paced game that even stalling with Potion by healing 20 damage is enough to flip the tables of a match. So, any Pokemon that can patch itself up without the need for an item you need to draw into is a major advantage. This means your best Pokemon will be able to stick around longer, and your opponent can collect fewer points.

There are plenty of options for adding a bit of healing to your deck, including Abilities that help you refresh your entire team and others that can suck your opponent dry while revitalizing your Pokemon.

Floette Mythical Island Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

Updated on June 13, 2025 by Alexander Pinera:Pokemon Pocket’s Mythical Island set gives almost every single Pokemon type a power boost. With fresh cards that allow certain types to access strategies that were previously unavailable to them, you have more options to choose from when building decks. In particular, Psychic gains access to healing Moves that allow them to stick around longer. Some Psychics are so good, as they can use your opponent’s own healing methods to boost themselves or the Pokemon on the Bench. So, whether you want your Pokemon to stick around longer through HP regeneration, or want to make it tougher for your opponent to score points, here are some Pokemon that can heal themselves.

12Floette

Psychic Gets A Healer

Healing is mostly a Grass-type skill with the occasional outlier allowing other types to get back some HP they lost during attacks from their opponents. Floette is the Stage one Evolution of Flabebe. This Psychic Pokemon has 70 HP and can heal itself for ten each turn.

It does this by using Leaf Drain, which costs one Energy to use and dishes out 40 damage. While not the most powerful Pokemon to heal itself, Floette will eventually be able to do much moreonce it Evolves into a Stage 2.

11Florges

The Entire Team Gets A Boost

Florges can be a nightmare to deal with if you come face to face with two. This is because Florges can use Bloomshine for only two Energy allowing it to dish out 80 damage and heal 20 from all of your Pokemon.

If you’re constantly bombarded by this Move, you’ll see Pokemon that Retreated to the Bench get back to full strength. Meanwhile, being a Stage 2 Pokemon with a Retreat Cost of one allows it to get back to the Bench itself, so another Florges can take its place.

Healing Moves Aplenty

There are many different Pokemon that can heal themselves or their allies. As long as this effect is attached to a Move, Mew ex can copy it and do the same thing. This includes Florges’ Bloomshine, Venusaur’s Giant Bloom, and Kabutop’s Leech Life.

Genome Hacking already allows you to copy some of the most powerful Moves in the game for only three Energy. The fact that it can heal itself using your opponent’s Moves not only makes it a flexible Pokemon, but one that turns the entire game around when they least expect it.

9Petilil

A Small Patch Up

Petilil is an essential Basic Pokemon if you want to take advantage ofLilligant’s Energy acceleration. While it might be a frail Pokemon with only a ten-damage attack, Blot will, at the very least, heal you for ten HP each time you use it.

While this might not mean much in the later stages of the game, ten damage can help you stall out if you open Petilil in your starting hand, and it is forced to stay in the Active Spot. This can buy you enough time to Evolve into Lilligant.

8Tangela

An Extra Punch For Your Heals

Tangela can only heal itself for ten damage, but it has a few advantages over Petilil. This is a starting HP of 80 and a move that does 40 damage. This means Tangela can fight back better but also last longer on the field.

The only downside to Tangela is that it has no Evolutions in Genetic Apex. This means that what you see is what you get, and you cannot get an upgrade to its power. Regardless, as a self-healer, it can help heal itself on top of being compatible with Erika.

7Ditto

Whatever You Can Do, Ditto Can Do

Ditto isthe perfect Colorless Pokemon for mirror matchessince it is essentially an extra copy of whatever your opponent is playing. So, if they have a Pokemon that can heal themselves using a move, Ditto can heal too, as long as you have the Energy to pay for the move.

With Copy Anything, Ditto can mimic healing moves such as Venusaur ex’s Giant Bloom or Kabutop’s Leech Life without having to Evolve first to gain access to it. As long as your opponent has them on the board, they can be copied.

6Vaporeon

Everyone’s Favorite Eeveelution

If you’re interested in playing Eeveelutions, then Vaporeon has one of the better effects. Bubble Drain costs three Energy to perform and does 60 damage each time it hits. This move also heals Vaporeon by 30 HP.

This is a surprisingly decent number to heal for a Stage 1 Pokemon, so not only is it easier to get on the field, but it can stall your opponent for some time. The only downside is that Vaporeon is still within range of a one-hit knockout from Pokemon like Mewtwo.

5Lapras ex

A Promo Worth Playing

There are many good Promo cards that look great, but Lapras ex is one of the more playable ones. With 140 HP and a move that does 80 damage, this Pokemon has enough firepower to make it a decent hitter against some of the stronger Pokemon.

While its Bubble Drain costs three Energy to perform, healing 20 damage each turn will help this ex Pokemon stay on the field longer. You can also accelerate the use of this move by using Misty to gather its cost quickly.

4Butterfree

Free Healthcare For Your Pokemon

Butterfree provides free healthcare for all your Pokemon. However, one easily overlooked detail about this card is that the text does not specify typing. It just states that all your Pokemon can benefit.

So, while you will most likely slide this card into your deck to patch up your Pokemon by 20 HP each turn, you can also slide it into any other deck as support. However, Grass decks benefit the most since many Grass-types can already heal themselves using moves. With two Butterfree on the Bench, you can stack their Abilities to heal 40 damage per turn.

3Kabutops

The Most Aggressive Healing

Kabutops is the Pokemon that can heal the most using a single move. Kaputops can heal itself for 50 HP each time it uses Leech Life. This isthe only Fighting-type card that can do thiswith the potential to do some major healing against Pokemon weak to the type.

It heals 50 as a base, but with Giovanni, it can heal 60. Against a Pokemon that is weak to Fighting-type, it can stack further and heal 80. This is because the healing done is always equal to the damage it dishes out, making it one of the most unique healers in the game.
