Summary
You will likely have a fantastic time working through the intricately crafted campaign ofAstro Bot, but by the time you finally reach the game’s credits, this is by no means a suggestion to stop playing.
There is a surprising amount of depth to all of the post-game options available upon completing Astro Bot. Getting everything the game has to offer can easily take just as long it did to reach credits, and you can choose to get as much or as little help to speed up or slow down this process. So, what can you do after completing Astro Bot?
7Complete All The Puzzles
All Your Bonuses
While it might feel like all of the focus when it comes to collectibles in Astro Bot is on the missing bots (which does make a little sense with howcute the cameo bots are), there is just as much reason to collect all of the puzzle pieces too.
There are five main collectibles you can get by completing the five puzzles the game presents you with. You’ll likely get the first three quite easily, but the last couple will need a little more active effort post-game.
Keep an eye out on the glide into a level since this is a common hiding spot for missing jigsaw pieces.
6Track Down All The Warp Hole Levels
Whole Extra Levels
While it is easy to start collecting puzzle pieces and missing bots, since they are so common throughout every level in the game, one collectible that is a bit easier to overlook are the warp holes. In each world there are two of these hidden in a random world marked out with a portal symbol next to the list of collectibles.
You could easily complete Astro Bot without discovering any of these, and it’s unlikely that you’ll find all of them. So, make sure you scour each of the levels marked with a warp hole to be rewarded with a whole new level each time.
5Find All the Photo Cutouts
Payout For Your Photo Shoot
One collectible that isn’t really even categorized as a collectible are the photo cutouts hidden around random levels. While you don’t get much of a reward for finding these initially, after you unlock the safari, you’ll be able to return to these and snag some coins for getting a pic in photo mode.
This is a great side activity to try when you are revisiting previous levels to find other collectibles, and if you’re trying to raise funds for other various post-game activities, this is one of the best ways to get quick cash.
4Unlock The Final Encore
And Try Out A New Power Up (Kinda)
If you have managed to unlock and subsequently play through each of the Lost Galaxy levels by finding each of the warp holes, then you’ll be rewarded by the last standard level that Astro Bot has to offer you.
This celebration is themed similarly to the credits level, but this time with a little more structure and exploration. The level also cleverlyuses the teddy cymbol power up, which is only used briefly in the credits before this.
3Complete Your Bot Collection
Every Single Cameo
Arguably the most fun collectible to pick up are the hidden bots in every level, but they’re also the most challenging to complete due to just how many there are. There are hundreds of these little robots spread over themany levels throughout Astro Bot, and while some of them are hard to miss, there are just as many that require an active effort to find.
While there are plenty of bots that have Astro’s plain design, there are just as many that feature a design based on a character from PlayStation’s history. Most of these cameo bots will feature an accessory that you can unlock for them at the Crash Site to fully complete your set-up at the game’s hub.
2Empty The Gacha Machine
Contained Fireworks
One of the earliest unlockables you’re going to get in Astro Bot is the first reward for collecting puzzle pieces, being the gacha capsule machine. Throughout the game, you’ll likely spend your spare change on this machine to unlock costumes, DualSense skins, and accessories for your cameo bots.
While you’ll likely get a good amount of the unlocks from this machine pre-credits, it’s a fun challenge to raise funds after beating the final boss to get everything that this machine has to offer.
One of the best levels to farm coins for this machine is Final Encore.
1Complete The Great Master Challenge
Test Of All Your Skills
After getting all of the puzzle pieces, you’ll be able to build a giant gold statue of Astro encrusted with his power ups around the base (a bit gaudy maybe), and while this is a fun aesthetic bonus, you can actually interact with it if you get all 300 hidden bots from every level.
Once you have all the bots, you’ll use the statue to reach the final extra challenge level, which is likely to be the hardest experience you’ll have in Astro Bot. It’ll probably take you a while to finally complete it, but you’ll get some extra bonuses for the effort, so it’s worth at least trying!
