Summary
InRune Factory 5, you are an amnesiac young hero who finds their way to the town of Rigbarth. There, you’re met with many friendly faces, happy to give you a job as a ranger for SEED and a place to stay. The citizens are friendly, and there’s a handful of bachelors and bachelorettes looking for romance.
Rune Factory 5 offers 12 total romance candidates to choose from, consisting of six bachelors and six bachelorettes. For the first time in the series, you can marry any romance candidate regardless of the gender you choose for your protagonist. That leaves one question: who is the best romance candidate to marry?
12Fuuka
The Childish Were-Animal
Fuuka is a were-animal with fox-like ears and a fluffy tailwho works at Elsje’s restaurant Lackadaisy. She’s a bit childlike with her love of shiny objects and a little on the animalistic side. She came to Rigbarth to escape something that’s been chasing her, but fully expects to have to move again in the future.
You may be especially uncomfortable with the fact that Fuuka seems to speak her own language, full of growls and grunts. Somehow, the player character seems to be able to understand her, or at least imply her meaning based on what she says.
11Scarlett
The Stoic Ranger
Scarlett is a half-elf, half-human ranger for SEED who was used to doing things on her own before you showed up. This stoic, work-oriented woman longs to be just like her father. To this end, she’s become self-sufficient and determined.
Scarlett has trouble opening up to others and can be a bit judgmental, but she means well. She’s just trying to keep Rigbarth safe. Once she starts something, she wants to see it through to the end - whether that something is a jigsaw puzzle or your relationship. Give Scarlett some time and she’ll begin opening up to you.
10Cecil
The Brilliant Detective
Cecil is a young man training under Terry’s guidance to become a proper detective. He’s also Martin’s younger brother. Cecil is eager to solve any mystery, even if it’s as simple as why children laugh so much when running around. Deep down, though, he wants to figure out what happened to his missing parents.
Cecil hates being treated like a child or an apprentice simply because of his youthful looks. He’d rather you treated him like the capable adult he is. He’s an honest and kind young man who does his best to help his older brother and the people of Rigbarth out any way he can. One mystery only you can solve is the way to his heart.
9Priscilla
Gentle But Fearful
Priscilla is a kind and sweet girl who is too terrified to leave town. You slowly help her conquer this fear by befriending her and giving her the dose of courage she so desperately needs. She is also Elsje’s little sister.
Priscilla cares deeply about her friends and writes notes to herself about how she can best help everyone, including you. More than that, she wants someone to sweep her off her feet like a fairytale. She may seem plain compared to the other love interests, but Priscilla means well.
8Reinhard
The Loyal Knight
Reinhard is Beatrice’s loyal knight who followed her to Rigbarth from the capital. He hopes to give her all the small comforts one may not usually find in country living, but he has a long way to go. It doesn’t help that any food, no matter how bad it tastes, seems delicious to him.
Reinhard is very straight-laced and work-oriented, but he has a softer side he usually only shows to Beatrice. Over time, he softens up to you too. Is there a place in this knight’s heart for you as well?
7Lucy
The Competitive Tomboy
Lucy has been friends with Priscilla since they were both little and is fiercely protective of her best friend. She’s a competitive girl who looks before she leaps and is always challenging you to competitions. She hopes to win them all, but hates losing.
Deep down, Lucy is a little insecure about not being a girly girl and misses her absent father dearly. She has trouble expressing her true feelings, though, and it takes an act of magic to convince her to try. Though she distrusts you at first, Lucy comes to greatly rely on you.
6Ryker
Tall, Dark, and Mysterious
Ryker is an apprentice carpenter studying under Palmo. However, though he’s fast and quick-witted, Ryker prefers taking things at his own pace, which leads to plenty of afternoon naps. He could pick a lock if he wanted to, but he’d rather rest instead.
Ryker doesn’t understand your work ethic or why you try so hard. He tries to imitate your good nature to help him understand, but it only leaves him more confused. It doesn’t help that it ends up worrying the hard-working souls in town when Ryker actually puts forth effort.
5Martin
Blacksmith In Training
Martin is Cecil’s older brother andan apprentice blacksmith working under Darroch. He’s extremely focused on his work, to the point where he’ll neglect sleep or food. It’s up to his younger brother and you to ensure Martin gets the rest he needs.
Though he seems serious at first glance, Martin also has a softer side. He does what he must to take care of Cecil, and even acts a bit silly sometimes as he names his tools. He may seem cold and distant, but he has a good heart locked away in his chest.
4Ludmila
In Love With Love
Ludmila is an eccentric character who comes towork at Rigbarth’s flower shop. She feeds off the smiles and positive emotions of others, filling what might as well be a second stomach. She’ll do whatever it takes to make the people of Rigbarth happy, from giving out free flowers to fortune-telling.
However, she’s also a bit of a masochist. She delights in getting scolded or hurt to an odd degree, for a farming sim like this. Some may find her a bit weird or over the top, but others may see past that and find Ludmila’s charm and kind heart.
3Murakumo
Energetic and Giving
Murakumo is an excitable and over-the-top were-beast who runs Rigbarth’s only inn. He’s Misasagi’s younger brother and Hina’s uncle. His good-natured heart leads to him constantly giving away freebies. It’s not good for business, but making others happy brings a smile to his face.
However, he’s more than just generous and kind to a fault. He’s also incredibly bright, possessing nearly encyclopedic knowledge that he gained from talking to customers at his inn. He may be overly excitable anddoesn’t know his strength, but deep down, Murakumo just wants to make his inn the best it possibly can be.
