As you’d expect from a game that makes you a shopkeeper who sells their own crafted wares,Amber Isleplaces quite a big importance on making money. Naturally, the main method for this is selling items through your shop to the residents of the island, relying on your friendships and shop perks to make massive profits.
Working out how to make a lot of money is a crucial aspect of the game, as you’ll need quite a lot to be able to make all the various repairs around the island and pay off your massive mortgage, which is important if you want to expand your shop.
Making Money
As you’d expect, the principal way to make money in this game is byselling itemsthat you have crafted yourself in your shop. This involves as much or as little price gouging andhagglingas you’re willing to invest time into, and there’s something to be said for learning thelikes and dislikesof your customers.
Very often, during a shift at the shop, you’ll be asked torecommend certain items to your clientele. This is where your choices can make a big impact on your profits. Your customer will ask for a certain quality and will, by and large, accept any item you recommend to themas long as it satisfies that requirement- no matter how costly.
A very important facet of this gameplay isunderstanding your wares. Every item in the game comes with a few tags, which helpfully describe exactly what it is. For example, the Scratchy Towel is a Carpenter item that is Medium size, made from Plant materials, and evokes the Shell Creek area. Paleofolk who like these qualities may end up paying more for this item when you recommend it to them.
Thanks to this, it’s a very good idea to craft a very wide range of items. This will give you a bigger chance of satisfying customers, being able to recommend hyper-specific combinations of preferred qualities, and then making money off of your fellow Amber Isle residents.
At the heart of it, the best way to make money quickly is to fully-stock your store with items and play multiple shifts in a row. This way, you can sustain your sale streak (to gain that nice 25 percent price bonus on items) and earn a lot of money from tips as you clean up footprints and dust dirty exhibits.
Eventually, you’ll end up ranking up and attracting Paleofolk to your store in greater numbers, which willfurtherincrease the speed at which you earn money. Money will come in low amounts to begin with, but eventually, shifts will earn you thousands upon thousands of Amber - especially once you’ve expanded your store enough to be able to handle a large number of items on sale at once.
Should You Quick Sell?
Separate to selling items in your shop, you can also sell items directly at quick sale points throughout the island map. The first will be constructed outside your shop, while others can also be constructed as you expand the number of regions you can visit.
The downside to using quick sales is that you cannot haggle and will never gain bonuses based on likes or shop perks, but the upside is you don’t have to rely on luck or patience to earn some quick Amber.
We would recommend that you use Quick Sales only to boost your money by small amounts if you’re very close to a certain goal, such as a mortgage repayment or a particularly useful island upgrade. Otherwise, if profit is your aim, you’ll benefit from selling items only at your store.
