Call of Duty: Black Ops 6has got off to an exceptional start. It launched to an84 on OpenCritic, scoring a4/5 from TheGamer, quicklybeat Modern Warfare 3’s Steam player numbers, and was declared the “Biggest Call of Duty release ever” by Activision’s new owner Microsoft.
But, while the game is breaking all kinds of records, it’s not without its fair share of problems, the latest of which seems to have cropped up after a recent update.
Black Ops 6 Players Are Finding Their Optics Disappearing
Over the past 24 hours,dozens of reportshave cropped up on the Black Ops 6 subreddit, with people complaining that, despite equipping them, their optics are disappearing from their guns.
The issue generally seems to occur after visiting the Gunsmith and equipping anew opticto a weapon. Upon exiting the Gunsmith, the optic will disappear, leaving the weapon with its default sight.
Seemingly, the only way to fix the issue is through brute force, equipping your optic over and over until it finally stays on the gun. However, one player reported that “going to the Microsoft store, checking for updates, and updating Xbox gaming services” resolved the issue for them.
Thiscoincided with the game’s latest update,which nerfed Recon, headshots, and snaking.Treyarch noted this, and the team reportedly resolvedthe issue, according to itsTrello board.
It’s one of a number of problems that have hit the game since it launched last week, with players reporting they"hate" the Zombies AFK timer,and a variety of bugscaused the game to launch to ‘Mixed’ reviewson the Valve-owned platformSteam.
