Summary
When discussing the fictional “Metaverse,” a lot of minds, including our own, immediately flock toFortnite. After all,Epic Games’live-service battle royalehas a litany of IP and pop culture collaborations under its belt.
However, over the years,Call of Dutyhas quickly established its own “Metaverse.” Famous athletes like Lionel Messi to artists like Nicki Minaj, down to pop culture highlights like the Armored Titan from Attack on Titan, have all been sold at one point or the other.
Now, it looks like another famous person could be joining the battlefield, and he might be bringing his son with him.
Call Of LeBron: Bronny On Duty
Taking to Twitter, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James tweeted at the official Call of Duty account, asking for them to reach out to him so that his son, Bronny, could get his own skin in the game.
Naturally, of course, the COD account replied, and did the elder James one better: the account teased doing a father-son skin pack for the game.
At the time of writing, nothing featuring the James family is imminent, though that could quickly change.Especially as Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25. That said, should either James (LeBron or Bronny) enter the game, they won’t be the first NBA players in COD history. No. That distinction goes to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, who were purchaseable skins in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Still, they would make history as the first father-son COD skin, the same way they are attempting to make history as the first father-son NBA duo when the basketball season tips off later this month.
