In the spring of 2025,DC Comicswill release a five-issue crossover miniseries with theSonic the Hedgehogseries. The announcement was made by Sega of America during Sonic Central and featured a teaser showing Shadow the Hedgehog dressed as Batman. According to DC, Sonic and his friends will team up with theJustice Leagueto fight a great evil.

Artwork of several other Sonic characters has been released showing them dressed as members of the Justice League, like Sonic as the Flash and Knuckles as Superman, hinting at them having similar roles to their DC counterparts. Still, there are several other Sonic characters who haven’t been announced, who would be great for the crossover if they mirrored their DC counterparts.

10Dr. Robotnik (Eggman)

Lex Luthor

You can’t have a Sonic crossover without featuring Dr. Ivo Robotnik, aka Eggman. In terms of a DC counterpart, with his fortune, resources, and high I.Q., Lex Luthor is the clear choice. A constant threat to both Superman and the Justice League, Luthor has even struck fear in the hearts of his own team, the Legion of Doom.

Robotnik’s brand of evil is not dissimilar and includes using live animals as batteries for his robots, and unleashing a god of destruction to destroy a city. Combining the duo would mean a Robotnik Luthor who’d be a threat to anyone he was up against.

9Big The Cat

Aquaman

Despite being heroes, Big the Cat and Aquaman are both more famous for being disliked among their respective franchise fan bases. Big is a large, dimwitted cat who is obsessed with his pet frog, Froggy, while Aquaman is depicted as useless when he’s out of the water.

There are other similarities, with both possessing super strength. Big also spends much of his time fishing, making him quite knowledgeable about aquatic life as well as Aquaman. Big is even an excellent swimmer, making him the prime candidate to portray Aquaman. We just have to hope the Big Aquaman combination doesn’t turn out to be useless on both land and in the ocean.

8Jet The Hawk

Hawkman

It makes perfect sense for a hawk to play Hawkman, and the Sonic series provides one. Jet the Hawk debuted in Sonic Riders as a rival to Sonic, possessing similar speed, and is also skilled at hoverboard racing. He’s the leader of a flock of birds called the Babylon Rogues, and while prideful, he’s still good at heart.

Hawkman is the human reincarnation of Katar Hol, a humanoid alien with birdlike wings called a Thanagarian. Giving Hawkman’s main weapon, a spiked mace, to Jet not only makes him a perfect Hawkman for the crossover, but also one that rides a high speed hoverboard, maybe even fast enough to compete with Sonic’s Flash.

7Cream The Rabbit

Stargirl

Cream the Rabbit may be one of Sonic’s youngest allies, but that doesn’t mean she’s short on power. Not only can she fly just by wiggling her ears, but she can decimate enemies using her pet Chao, Cheese. Despite her age, she is brave in the face of danger, fighting alongside Sonic and his allies when threats arise.

This makes her the perfect character to play fellow young hero Stargirl, who’s just as brave and dedicated to fighting alongside her allies. It would be awesome to see Cream wield Cheese like Stargirl’s Cosmic Staff, launching energy blasts and being the unexpected strength of any team.

6Blaze The Cat

Starfire

Blaze the Cat debuted in Sonic Rush, where she teamed up with Sonic to fight Robotnik and Eggman Nega. She is a princess from a parallel dimension, possessing pyrokinesis, super speed like Sonic, and after becoming Burning Blaze with the Sol Emeralds, she also gains the ability to fly. However, she struggles to make friends.

Starfire is incredibly similar. She’s also a princess outside of Earth, can fly, launches energy blasts from her hands, and is also naive and unsure around new things or other people. Because of these similarities, Blaze would make an excellent match to play Starfire to bring their strengths together.

5Rouge The Bat

Catwoman

Batgirl is probably the first thing you think of when seeing Rouge in DC, especially since she’s a bat, is a government agent, uses gadgets, and is a close friend of Shadow’s, who’s dressed likeBatmanin the crossover.

But those are where the similarities end. Rouge is a treasure hunter and a thief, just like Catwoman. In fact, she spends most of Sonic Adventure 2 searching for shards of the Master Emerald, Chaos Emeralds, and works for the government in exchange for more jewels. LikeCatwoman, she uses her sultry appearance to help achieve her goals, is a strong leg fighter, and uses special nails as tools, making her an unusual, winged Catwoman.

4E-123 Omega

Red Tornado

E-123 Omega, aka Omega, is the last E-100 series of robots created by Robotnik. After being abandoned by his creator, he joins Shadow and Rouge in changing sides. Like Omega, Red Tornado also started off as part of a line of evil robots. Created by T.O. Morrow, he merged with a living, alien tornado, made a heel-face turn and joined the Justice League.

As well as being robots that change sides, Omega and Red Tornado both have similar abilities, such as super strength and flight. Omega’s body can rotate, which could allow him to turn into a tornado, mimicking Red Tornado’s own wind abilities. Unlike other members of their teams, their robotic body parts can be replaced and repaired, making them quite versatile in combat and surely even more so together.

3Nack The Weasel

Deadshot

Nack the Weasel, aka Fang the Sniper, debuted in Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble. He’s a villain who aligns himself with Robotnik to find the Chaos Emeralds. Like Rouge, he’s a treasure hunter, but is much more malevolent. His main weapon is a gun, something loved by the Batman villain, Deadshot.

Nack’s Deadshot would be a perfect foil to Shadow’s Batman, and even Rouge’s Catwoman. He’s also a master strategist, just like Deadshot, able to trick both enemies and allies into helping him in his goals. Combined a Nack Deadshot would truly be deadly.

2Mighty The Armadillo

Hourman

Mighty the Armadillo first appeared alongside Sonic and their friend, Ray the Flying Squirrel, in SegaSonic the Hedgehog. Since then, he has worked alongside the Chaotix and recently returned inSonic Mania.

His most noticeable feature is his vast strength and durability, able to smash through solid rock and endure hits from spikes. Hourman’s hourglass grants him similar strength, but for only an hour. Can you imagine how powerful Mighty would be with his already impressive strength enhanced by the hourglass? Or maybe Hourglass’s power could be lengthened by Mighty? Either combination is sure to be deadly.

1Metal Sonic

Amazo

Robotnik has created several robot doppelgängers of Sonic, but none have matched him quite like Metal Sonic. In Sonic Heroes, he gained the ability to copy other characters’ data, adding their strengths to his, just like Amazo.

Created by Professor Ivo, Amazo is a robot supervillain who has copied the abilities of some of the strongest members of the Justice League, making him one of their most powerful foes. Using the league’s own powers against them would make Metal Sonic’s Amazo a near-unstoppable threat.
