Trunk of Funk has one ofAstro Bot’sgrooviest titles, and is also maybe the most platform-heavy level in the Tentacle System. Stick with us and we’ll guide you through the jumps and bumps to get every Bot and Jigsaw Piece in the level.
Jigsaw 1
Another level that asks you to pay attention right from the start.Keep right as you glide into the leveland head throughthe rock tunnelto grab the first jigsaw of Trunk of Funk.
Bot 1
Around the back of the seed (or tree if you’ve watered it by this point),a bot is riding a deer. Give it a good old fashioned bash to rescue it and start Trunk of Funk off in style.
Our original footage of this level was damaged, so our screens here have big silver coins representing the bots. Thankfully, we missed both PlayStation bots the first time around, so they’re still here in all their Sony glory.
Jigsaw 2
To the right of the seed (or tree), you’ll see a mole carrying a golf ball.Hit it towards the flag(golfers call it the pin - nice lingo tip there) and when you sink it,a jigsaw piece will pop upfor you to grab.
When you water the seed, keep spraying water at the tree’s trunk to get the What Is He Saying Trophy.
Bot 2
Just behind the golf flag, you’ll seeDays Gone’s Deacon St.John standing on a mushroom. Defeat the mole attacking him then jump up to free him from his plight.
Bot 3
When you first get the elephant powers and leave the tree, there aretwo podiums off to the rightyou can reach if youmake two grass platforms with your trunkon the way over. A bot is waiting to be rescued on the top one.
Bot 4
When the path takes you back inside the tree to face a strange Kool-Aid Man skull full of green gunk,ride the steam jet up to the exit, but rather than leaving,keep going to the left to the mushroomson the wall. Use the grass platform to reach them and pull the loose wire to rescue the bot.
Bot 5
When you take outthe caterpillar formation bots around the pool of green ooze, the steam carries podiums vertical. However, if youride the steam up then jump out to the far platformusingtwo grass squarescreated by your elephant backpack, you’ll find the next bot. A trampoline brings you back where you started from.
Bot 6
When you see thebig yellow caterpillar sticking out of the tree, headaround to the leftand defeat the enemies there.Pull the loose wireandpush the second from right green squareto reachKena (of Bridge of Spirits fame)inside the tree.
Jigsaw 3
Just after getting the honey platform power,you’ll fight a giant flower- using the platforms to get to its petals will help here. After it has been defeated,laser jump on the dirtwhere it was to free the third and final jigsaw piece.
Bot 7
When you cross the chestnut gap and see the two honey Kool-Aid Man skulls,use the honey to jump up to the zipper on the tree. Grab it to find a secret area and travel through the spiked tunnel using the honey platforms to rescue the final bot in Trunk of Funk.
