Summary
Concord is being shut down by PlayStation later this week, possibly never to return, offering everyone who bought the game refunds less than two weeks after launch. It’s a move that will makeConcordcompletely unplayable, which is a massive blow for developer Firewalk Studios, as well as those that have been enjoying the game these past two weeks. Hey,there may not be a lot of them, but there were some.
In fact, those same few people have been grinding away to try and get Concord’s platinum trophy, which has inadvertently become a bit of a collector’s item following the shutdown news. It’s not a particularly difficult platinum trophy to acquire, as simply playing the game for an extended period will get you it eventually, but time is now in short supply since the game will cease to exist on September 6.
That means those that were planning to grind for the platinum and have already made significant headway now need to earn the game’s remaining trophies in a little over 72 hours. One trophy called “Experienced Freegunner” requires players to reach Freegunner Reputation Level 100, and some interesting tactics are already being demonstrated to quicken the grind.
Concord Players Are Racing For The Platinum By Killing Themselves
A couple of videos have popped up on Twitter of Rivalry matches in Concord that end in mere seconds. That’s because teams of Concord players are killing themselves as soon as the game starts, immediately ending games as Rivalry is a mode that only gives players one life. It also happens to be the mode that gives players the most experience, meaning Rivalry matches are now justfull of players killing themselves over and overin a desperate bid to get the platinum.
Unfortunately, it may not be enough for those that are still a way off Freegunner Reputation Level 100, asTwitter user Radecexplains they’ve been throwing themselves into the abyss for an hour and only increased in level by one. It’s still going to take a significant amount of play time to get that platinum, so it seems like some players might be pulling all-nighters if they want to grab it before this Friday.
