Cornered In The Catacombsis a quest inDragon Age: The Veilguardthat takes you deep underneath Dock Town where the Blight is growing untamed. It’s your job to go in there and tame in. One of the most claustrophobic quests in the game, it sees you squeeze into the caverns under the city (ie the catacombs) to stomp out the Blight.

The boots doing that stomping should be eitherTaash or Davrin, since theDarkspawnyou’ll be facing aVulnerable to Fire. Since these fights take place in tight spaces (someone should make a game about that), someone who can set upDetonationslikeNeve or Bellara would be goodtoo - butnot Emmrich, as these creaturesResist Necroticdamage.

Defeat The Darkspawn

The first part of this quest is very linear, and involves going through the caves andfighting Darkspawn. It’s not untillater, when theBlight Boils are hidden in a puzzle, that things gettricky. For now, usearea Abilitieswhen theGhouls swarm, and target yourranged and Fire attacks on the Hurlock Blighters, aiming for their orange boils.

You should continue this tactic until theBloodhunting Berzerker arrives, at which point you shouldrush it with Heavy attacks, ideally aftertrapping it with an area Ability. Once itsArmor is removed, useFire abilities to eliminate it.

How To Solve The Stone Puzzle

As you head down into the water, you seea stone blocking a magic beam. However, moving that stone moves another, so one willalways be blocking the beam. You need to make it so the beam can pass through.

What you need to do islower the first stoneso the beam goesthrough the gap. Thenmove the stone on the wall, pulling it out. This willblock the stone you just loweredfrom rising. Go through the gap yourself, andlower the second stone. This time, thefirst stone will not rise, and the beam will pass through.

This will let youdestroy the Blight in the alcove by the beam, which will let youattack the Blight gate near the entrance, which leads to an elevator.

Outside, you willfight more Darkspawn, but less than the first wave, so it should not be diifficult.Destroy the Blight on the raised beams, thenon the wall, to open the gate, then follow the marker to the quest end.
