No, we’re not joking, either.

Why Ronaldo Actually Makes Sense In SNK
On the surface, Ronaldo in an SNK fighting game sounds like the strangest type of collaboration one could even think of. It’s certainly up there withPlayStation’sUncharted 3collaborating with U.S.-based sandwich chain Subway, orDeath Strandingpartnering with Monster energy drinks.
That said, Ronaldo in an SNK title actually makes sense. In case you weren’t aware,SNK is owned by the MiSK Foundation, or the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation, a foundation created by Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
Indeed, back in 2022, Electronic Gaming Development Company, a subsidiary of MiSK, claimed a 96.18 percent ownership stake in SNK’s shares after previously acquiring an initial 33.3 percent stake in SNK,per a report from The Verge.
Ronaldo, who once starred for Manchester United and Real Madrid, has since gone on to play in the Saudi Pro League for club Al Nassr FC. In other words, there’s a Saudi connection at play here, which makes Ronaldo’s presence in City of the Wolves less confusing.
Even with the connection, seeing Ronaldo in a fighting game will certainly be a mind trip. Of course, fighting games are no stranger to pop culture crossovers, but this is also a real-life figure and not a fictional one, like Ghostface in Mortal Kombat.
City of the Wolves is set for an July 02, 2025, release date for all major consoles, so it won’t be too long before you can potentially ‘Siuuu’ your opponents into rage-quitting.
