It’s safe to say thatCyberpunk 2077is now a good game, especially when paired with the Phantom Liberty DLC. While the game was an absolute mess at launch,CD Projekt Redslowly worked on it, capping it off with a great story DLC, which also introduced a series of new features. We can now look back on it fondly, instead of as an example of a broken game.
While Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PlayStation Store just a bit after its broken launch, it is now moving onto other platforms in its finished state. CD Projekt Red has announced that the game will soon be coming to Mac devices.
Welcome To The Future, Mac Users
CD Projekt Red hasn’t revealed an exact date yet, but has said that Mac users can expect to play the game early next year.
“Cyberpunk 2077 and its spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty will be coming to Mac,” says theannouncement. “Taking full advantage of Apple silicon and advanced technologies of Metal, the world of the dark future is available to Mac gamers for the very first time. Players can enjoy advanced features like path tracing, frame generation, and built-in Spatial Audio for even more immersive gameplay and stunning visuals.”
Mac users will be able to get their hands on the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition early next year via the Mac App Store, GOG.com, Steam and Epic Games Store.
Apple ecosystem device users have for a long time been subjected to ridicule due to the non-compatibility of Macs with most modern games. The company has been slowly pushing to change this, and bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to its devices will be a big step in the right direction. It might even capture a big audience for the game, considering there isn’t too much competition in that space.
While CDPR will be hoping that this move further repairs the reputation of the game, the associate game director of the in-development sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, Paweł Sasko,believes that the studio may never win back some disgruntled fans.
“It might be a situation that never happens for some of them,” he said in an interview earlier this month. “But that’s unfortunately the price we have to pay for what happened. But I hope that, throughout the work that we are doing, throughout the things that we are showing, we can actually win some of these people around.
