Summary

Cyberpunk 2077is easily one of the best-looking games onPS5right now, and just one short jaunt down the streets of Night City makes it clear that developer CD Projekt Red has put it’s all into making it look as good as it does. In fact, it’s a game that thrives on looking as good as possible, as it even hasa Ray Tracing Overdrive Mode for fans to melt their PCs with.

That’s why it’s slightly surprising that CD Projekt Red doesn’t look like it’s going to capitalize on the improved horsepower of thePS5 Pro. An upgrade or update to the game for the console has been much-requested by fans for a little while, and after someone directly asked the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account if one was in the works, their hopes were very swiftly and firmly shot down.

Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Be Getting A PS5 Pro Update

In the reply to this fan, CD Projekt Red quite simply states that it “currently [has] no plans” for a PS5 Pro patch, shutting down the conversation before it could even start. I guess the word “currently” kind of suggests that it’s possible one could come in the future, but that feels like a bit of a cope if I’m being honest. Best to assume that it’s just never going to happen, which isn’t all bad since the game runs and looks pretty damn good anyway.

It’s also worth pointing out that CD Projekt Red is very busy with other games at the minute. In fact, it was revealed thatliterally zero developers are still working on Cyberpunk 2077at the moment, withthe vast majority of the studio currently working on The Witcher 4. A fair few are currently working on Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, while a handful are working on other titles.

CD Projekt Red provided those numbers back in May, though it’s difficult to see how the working situation at the studio would have changed between then and now. If anything, they’re probably glad that they can move onto other things, having been working on the title for what must be around a decade at this point. Let the poor guys work on something new.
