Summary

For better or worse,Days Gonehas reentered the gaming conversationafter its former co-director, John Garvin, criticized the game’s protagonist, Deacon St. John’s appearance in Astro Bot. Thatthen prompted Sony’s Bend Studio, who developed the first-party exclusive, to respond, along with other former people involved with the game.

But if you thought that was the end of things, then think again.

Because it appears that Days Gone is seemingly set for aPlayStation 5remaster. Should that come to fruition, then the title will join the likes ofThe Last of UsandUncharted, as wellas potentially Horizon Zero Dawn in getting buffed up versions.

While rumors of a Days Gone remaster originally felt like memes in light of Garvin’s social media meltdown, it appears that they are actually in-fact true.

Prepare To Ride Again

For some background, Jordan Middler of Video Games Chronicle originally teased on September 19, that the “even less exciting” remaster than Horizon was Days Gone.

Then, on Friday, Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb fame, essentially confirmed that hint on the Game Mess Mornings show, saying, “Yeah, this is it,” in response to that tease.

In other words, Days Gone, the 2019 PlayStation 4 exclusive that was later ported to PC, will be getting some sort of enhanced version on PS5, potentially with some added PS5 Pro benefits.

Garvin drama aside, Days Gone would appear to be the lastPlayStationgame to get any sort of remaster. That’s because the game wasn’t exactly a critical darling, having notched a 71 on Metacritic. Additionally,it wasn’t too long ago that the game received some PS5 enhancements, including 60 FPS support and 4K visuals.

With rumors of a potential State of Play before the end of the month swirling, it might not be too long before we see exactly what a Days Gone “Remaster” would even look like.
