Summary

Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterplayers have figured out how to craft infinite Laser Swords and Real Mega Busters using a new book that’s unlocked after finishing the game.

Although the recently releasedDead Risingremake (or whatever Capcom wants to call it) is generally very faithful to the original game, there is one big difference between it and the 2006 version - it’s a ton easier. No matter how you slice it,Deluxe Remaster is far less challenging than veterans will remember it, especially thanks to a few new additions.

Ignoring the Rocket Launcher, the main new piece of content that Deluxe Remaster adds to Dead Rising is a handful of new books with special effects. The best of these is Blender Manual, which is unlocked after beating the main story(or surviving for three days) and lets you put whatever you want into a blender for randomised mixed drinks and even some powerful items.

While most of the things you create with the blending book will be Mixed Juices, if you use the right ingredients you can get some powerful boss weapons. As discovered by Twitter user TizzyThePony and highlighted by FrankByDaylight, that can be taken to the extreme, as one of the combos lets you create the Real Mega Buster and Laser Sword.

By using the new blender book (which spawns in the Security Room) you can mix yourself a Real Laser Sword by chucking in a Real Mega Buster and the Toy Laser Sword. Conversely, if you want a Real Mega Buster, you can put in the toy version (usually found in Colby’s Movieland) with the Real Laser Sword.

As TizzyThePony pointed out, it’s starting to feel like Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster actually has combo weapons, a feature that was introduced in Dead Rising 2.

Not only does this allow you access to the weapon if you haven’t officially unlocked it (which is more likely with the Real Laser Sword since it’s earned in Infinity Mode), but it also means you may make a near-unlimited supply of them, as long as you grab enough toys and let the overpowered weapons spawn. As you can see in FrankByDaylight’s tweet, they’ve filled up their inventory with the items and even armed survivors with the powerful weapons.

It’s not clear so far if this is a bug or an intended feature, but fans are having a great time with it so most are hopeful that it’ll stay. And really, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is already so much easier that it’s not a problem for it to have some fun with itself.
