Summary
Frank West’s new voice actor inDead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Jas Patrick, wants to see Dead Rising 2: Off The Record get the same remade treatment.
2024 has been a surprising year for gaming overall, but one of the biggest shocks was when Capcom revealed out of nowhere thatDead Rising was finally making a comeback in the form of a “deluxe remaster” of the first game. Now that Frank’s first trip to zombie hell has arrived,Capcom has sent out a survey asking fans what they want to see next.
That survey, which started making the rounds earlier this week, indicates that deluxe remasters are possible for pretty much every game in the series, including the non-canon version of Dead Rising 2 that stars Frank instead of Chuck - Off The Record. While that’s bound to be a popular choice anyway, a key figure for the series has cast their vote for what they want to see.
As pointed out by Twitter user FrankByDaylight, the voice actor behindFrank West in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Jas Patrick, has shared Capcom’s surveywhile pointing out the game they want to see get remade. Patrick said, “Pssssst! Hey! You! The one holding the phone…
Vote: DR2 Off The Record! DR2 Off The Record! ensure to vote and Pass it along!”
Although they’re not mentioned in the survey, fans also want to see Case Zero and Case West as part of a potential Deluxe Remaster of Dead Rising 2.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to learn that Patrick wants to see Dead Rising 2: Off The Record get the Deluxe Remaster treatment more than the other games in the series. As fans know,Off The Record is basically a director’s cut version of Dead Rising 2that replaces its protagonist, Chuck Greene, with the loveable photojournalist from the first game.
While Frank West doesn’t make any appearances in the proper version of Dead Rising 2, he’s all over Off The Record and acts as his protagonist. With Patrick taking up the role of Frank West, it’s likely he’d be brought back to voice Frank again for the non-canon sequel, so it’s understandable that he wants to see that most.
Off The Record is generally a popular pick for the next Deluxe Remaster, as it also improved on a lot from Dead Rising 2’s base game. Some fans have suggested that a Deluxe Remaster should package the games together and offer Frank’s campaign as a side mode, but that seems unlikely considering how much work actually went into remaking the game with Frank.
