This grey, wrinkly, slice of Mourn Watch pie is in his 50s. And even though he’s mastered the art of raising the dead, he looks his age. Fans couldn’t be happier.
“There’s always been sort of an MO aroundDragon Ageromances. Pretty/handsome, and usually quite young,” a popular Reddit post reads. “Call me a DILF hunter, but it’s nice to see a wide variety of ages with the new romanceable cast, and it’s great to see that they’re unafraid to go higher.”
As many point out, Dragon Age has always been ahead of the curve, with a wealth of companions in their 30s to 40s being romanceable (Iron Bull is the best, argue with a wall). But to see BioWare take that even further with someone in their 50s to 60s is incredible.
However, while the self-proclaimed DILF hunters are having the time of their life, there’s a Flemeth-shaped elephant (or dragon, I guess) in the room.
There’s Still A Lack Of Romanceable Older Women
“Me, having a perfectly nice day when I realise that Neve and Harding are likely to be the 2nd and 3rd oldest romanceable female companions ever across four games, and they’re not even 40,” the top comment reads.
Being able to romance older party members in rare enough in games, but older womenespeciallyso. And while The Veilguard is giving us Volkarin on a silver platter, all of the women are still clearly young.
Morrigan might be a MILF depending on your world state…oh wait.
“I wish we had some older female romance options too (still salty we can’t romance Jaheira inBaldur’s Gate 3). Oldest one we’ve had was Cassandra, I guess, and she was mid-to-late 30s only,” one commenter said.
Maybe one day we’ll get to romance a Flemeth baddy, but The Veilguard is not that day. But hey, Emmrich Volkarin is at least one step forward.
