Summary
Dragon Agehas been going for quite a while, spanning multiple generations with the upcoming release ofDragon Age: The Veilguard. That means that the graphical quality of each game differs pretty drastically, and despite the older titles being beloved by BioWare fans, the studio has never been tempted to revisit them and give them a fresh coat of paint.
A Dragon Age trilogy remaster in the same vein as the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition remaster that launched in 2021 isa popular request among fans of the series, and it’s apparently something that even developers at BioWare would like to see happen.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Director Wants An Original Trilogy Remaster
Speaking in a roundtable Q&A session (thanksGamesRadar), Dragon Age: The Veilguard director Corrine Busch was asked whether fans could expect a series of remasters bundled together like Mass Effect: Legendary Edition in the future. Her answer gave away no secrets, but she did say that she’d “love” it if it happened.
“TBD on that one. I would love it, but right now we’re wholly focused on just making this the most complete experience we can.”
While Busch doesn’t really give away any hints as to what the internal plans are surrounding potential Dragon Age remasters, this does imply that it’s not an impossibility. EA and BioWare will likely want to get Dragon Age: The Veilguard out before deciding on any more Dragon Age projects, but it’s worth noting that the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition came after the release of Mass Effect Andromeda. You never know, right?
At least we have Dragon Age: The Veilguard to look forward to for now, which is being shown off piece by piece on an almost weekly schedule. For example,we got our first look at the game’s character creator earlier today, one whichwe recently learned was heavily inspired by The Sims 4.
