WithDragon Age: The Veilguardonly a few days away, you’re probably working out your party dynamics in your head. Which class to choose for your character, who to take along on quests, and most importantly, which of your companions to romance. There are quite a few good options from what we’ve seen so far, but one of them stands out from the rest.

Emmrich, apart from being a necromancer, is also a well spoken and well dressed old chap. We’re usually used to seeing creepy or edgy necromancers, but BioWare has given us our first gentleman necromancer. From the previews and trailers, he looks to be in his 50s, but one fan’s artwork has given us a glimpse of his youth.

A Dashing Young Necromancer

Over on the Dragon Age subreddit, one fan has used their artistry to edit images of Emmrich and make him appear younger – perhaps in his early 30s. It doesn’t come as a surprise that he makes for quite a handsome young man.

His skin is a lot younger, and his hair is darker, although his widow’s peak still remains. His pencil mustache is a lot slimmer and sharper, and for some reason, he has a chad chin. While it isn’t wildly different from how Emmrich looks in the game, this is quite a realistic picture of what he’d look like about 20 years back.

The pencil mustache, widow’s peak, and formal necromancer attire reminded a lot of Gomes Addams – perhaps a mix between the cartoon version and Raul Julia’s live action depiction. "

“Ngl, if Emmrich is even 50% the man that (Raul Julia’s) Gomez was, I might romance him a lot earlier than I’d planned,” said one of the comments on the post. While others felt that “anyone wanting a mod for him to look younger is weak. True emmrichheads are not afraid of age”. It’s evident that the community has already fallen in love with the gentleman necromancer and his charming demeanor.

It seems that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will reward you with alternatearmour sets for your companions, depending on the decisions you makein their companion quest. “Some outfits only unlock depending on your choices during a companion-specific quest line,” said RPG-focused content creator JorRaptor, who has played the game. This means that we’ll get to see more of Emmrich’s classy necromancer fits.
