Summary
You’ll spend a good chunk of time atThe LighthouseinDragon Age: The Veilguard. This hub area once belonging to Solas is situated within the Fade, and each companion you recruit will set up shop in one of its many wings.
You can pop by and have a chat with them at any time, but there’s a really handy way to know if they have any important new dialogue or potentially even new quests.
As pointed out by Twitter user @illiciture, the lanterns by each room’s door will light up in blue when a companion’s ready to chat. It’s a neat little trick that saves you having to check in on everybody every single time you return to The Lighthouse.
You can also check the map, which will tell you if certain conversations can expire.
Harding Has Some Unmarked Dialogue
As several commenters point out, however, Harding has some dialogue that isn’t marked on the map or by the lanterns. At the very least, it’s worth checking in on her every now and then, even if there’s nothing in-game telling you to.
The same goes for Varric, who spends the opening hours of the game having a nice nap.
You can even run into companions interacting when you’re not around (which is especially fitting sincethey can romance each other). But the lanterns are specifically for the important dialogue that pushes the story forward and opens up new missions. Otherwise, it’s mostly bits of banter that add character to your party.
