Summary

TheDragon Ball: Sparking ZeroCollector’s Edition has been shown in-person for the first time, and fans aren’t too impressed with Goku’s “low-quality” statue.

We’re just a few short weeks away from thelong-awaited release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero on October 11and, if you’re anything like me, then you’re probably celebrating the occasion by spending far too much money. That was made a lot easier whenBandai Namco announced an impressive-looking collector’s edition for the game, which features a statue of MUI Goku fighting Broly.

As you’d expect from a limited version of one of the most anticipated Dragon Ball games of all time, the Sparking Zero collector’s edition sold out nearly instantlywhen it was put up for pre-order and has been incredibly tough to get a hold of. While I’m sure a lot of fans have FOMO with that in mind, it seems that the actual final product isn’t living up to the dream.

Sparking Zero’s Collector’s Edition Isn’t Impressing Fans

Over on Twitter,Marty_japan shared a first in-person look at the Sparking Zero collector’s edition, which has so far only been seen in press shots on the official website. The images from Marty_japan show the diorama of Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku going up against Broly, butthey also highlight a strange and “low quality” look at Goku’s face.

Although the rest of the statue looks pretty great, the main centrepiece of it all, Goku, doesn’t quite look right, with some fans comparing him to a “Robot Chicken sketch"and saying that knockoff figures look better. One of the most popular tweets highlighting the problems with the collector’s editioncomes from Twitter user SLOplays, who shared an image of Goku’s face while simply using a skull and crossbones emoji.

The comments on that tweet show a lot of unhappy fans who have expressed disappointment with the quality of the statue and how strange Goku’s face looks. Some are hoping that it’s just the sample figure that was picked for the event, but it seems more likely that it’s representative of the final product that most are going to receive.

We’ll have to wait and see when Sparking Zero launches to see if it’s the same across all statues, but it’s a bit of a shame consideringhow great the collector’s editions for Kakarot, Xenoverse 2, and FighterZ were in the past.
