Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’sultimate edition launched just a few hours ago, but before this, some lucky players got their hands on the title and decided to stream it early.
Typically, streaming a game prior to its official launch is frowned upon by publishers, and they take swift, sharp action. However,Bandai Namcodecided to take a different approach with a streamer named Edgar, joining the festivities before politely requesting they stop.
Bandai Namco Politely Shuts Down Early Sparking Zero Stream
Ahead of its official launch, a YouTuber named Edgar streamed Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, well aware that he was one of the first to the punch. Naturally, this would annoy the game’s publisher, Bandai Namco.
However, rather than copyright striking the stream immediately, the publishers tried to reason with Edgar in an endearing show of humanity.
Joining the stream, Bandai made itself known with a simple message saying “Hello.” A little while passed, with the publisher then pleading with the streamer, saying, “Edgar my guy, stop doing this”.
With Edgar seemingly ignoring Bandai Namco’s request, the publisher decided to go full cop, asking, “Actually, hey, which store did you order from?” Edgar’s no snitch, though.
Getting (jokingly) frustrated with the fact Edgar continued to stream the game, Bandai Namco said, “Guys, let me have a day off”. Getting nowhere, unfortunately,, Edgar’s stream was later hit with a copyright strike, but that wasn’t the end of the relationship with Bandai.
Hosting its own stream celebrating the launch of Sparking Zero andits glowing reviews, Bandai Namco was joined by its frenemy Edgar. Itwelcomed him and said, “Glad to see you in my chat instead of the other way around. It’s almost time.”
In a time in which big video game developers and publishers are removing themselves further and further from fans, it’s nice to see that some community teams are willing to have a little fun.
