Summary

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zeroplayers aren’t happy with the game’s extremely limited selection of accessories at launch, with Scouters and halos basically being all that’s on offer.

Leading up to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s launch, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoftshared a lot of details about the game’s customisation and seemed to be on the right trackwith inclusions likeGohan’s damaged Saiyaman outfit and Goku’s Yardrat fit. While those two are great and there are some good costumes in there, the overall customisation leaves a lot to be desired.

We’ve already talked about Sparking Zero playersbeing let down by the customisation options when it comes to missing outfits and iconic fits, but it goes a little further than that, as the game also offers the option to add accessories. That sounds good on paper, but in practice, it’s much more limited than we were expecting.

Sparking Zero Players Aren’t Happy With The Game’s Range Of Accessories

When you first go into Sparking Zero’s customisation options for each character, you’ll be greeted with a surprising amount of room for both costumes and accessories. While the eight empty slots are encouraging, there isn’t anywhere near enough accessories in the game to justify so much empty space.

As of the time of writing, you can really only give certain characters a halo or a Scouter, which is also only an option depending on if they can canonically have it. Since launch, players have been confused about whether they’re just missing the unlockable accessories, but the truth is that there really aren’t that many in the game right now.

Over on Twitter,AirDokkan shared an image from Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butōden’s customizationand pointed out that Sparking Zero needs to do the same, which prompted a lot of complaints about how the game currently handles the system. For example,Twitter user SLOplays shared an image of the Scouter and halosaying, “I s**t you not, this is literally all we got”.

Sparking Zero’s producer, Jun Furutani, was previously quoted as saying that Goku would be able to use Master Roshi’s sunglasses, something that didn’t end up happening.

This is far from the only complaint about the game’s lack of accessories, as the game’s subreddit is full of comments and questions from fans about why there are so few.One Redditor, Gaming-every-day19, pointed out that the number of slots is just confusingsince most characters on the roster don’t even have outfits or accessories.

While it’s true that Sparking Zero’s current selection is disappointing, it seems like something that’s going to be remedied over time with updates and DLC. Spike Chunsoft and Bandai haven’t promised anything yet, but it makes sense that, like Xenoverse,Sparking Zero will have more content added to it over time. Still, it’s a bit disappointing to see when so much could have been done.
