Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerofans have been discussing some of the forms missing from the game currently that they’d like to see in the future, such as Super Saiyan Rage, Oozaru Gohan, and pretty much every version of Frost that we didn’t get.
With an enormous roster of 182 charactersthat breaksBudokai Tenkaichi 3’s previous record, no one can claim that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero doesn’t have a mindblowing selection of fighters. No one. That being said, there are a fewnotable omissions and strange choices that have been madewhen it comes to representing certain characters.
I could, and have, go on about the fact thatSuper Saiyan Evolution and Blue Kaioken deserved to be their own formsinstead of Skills for Goku and Vegeta, but that’s not whatDragon Ballfans have discussing lately. Instead, it’s about the transformations that are strangely absent from some of the game’s cast.
Sparking Zero Fans Aren’t Happy About Missing Transformations
Over on the Tenkaichi 4 subreddit, ZamorakHawk started the conversation by asking fans which characters they’ve noticed are missing their canon forms, before pointing out Frost as one of the biggest examples. In-game, Frost only has his “final form”, meaning he’s missing a ton of transformations and doesn’t have his “Full-Power” mode that we saw him use in the anime.
Another big example of a character missing a transformation is mentioned by Redditor cockerel69, who pointed out that the Super version of Future Trunks doesn’t have Super Saiyan 2 as part of his moveset, despite it being a big deal that he’s reached that level. To make matters worse, he also doesn’t have his unique Super Saiyan Rage transformation that he uses towards the end of his Super arc.
Future Trunks does have a blue and yellow aura when charging up, which is clearly meant to imitate Super Saiyan Rage, so it’s especially noticeable that he can’t transform into it.
Some other notable examples pointed out in the thread include the Oozaru forms for Gohan, Bardock, Raditz, and Goku (Teen), with Vegeta (Scouter) being the only character in the game who can transform into a Great Ape. Bardock is another good example as he’s not only missing that transformation but he also can’t even turn into a Super Saiyan. That form isn’t always considered canon for him, but it’s still strange.
Those are just a few examples of how many characters in Sparking Zero are missing some of their canon forms, with other mentions going towards Kale and Caulifla who are both missing some of their Super Saiyan transformations and some of the movie characters only having their final form. Sparking Zero’s roster is immense, but there are clearly some areas for improvement that fans want to see in the future.
