The first new entry into the Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi series in 14 years is causing players so many problems that they’re taking to Reddit in their droves to claim the game is “way too hard.”

Since the game launched, multiple threads have cropped up in the fledgling Sparking Zero Subreddit, with players quick to share their frustration at its single-player difficulty.

Inone of the threads, the difficulty level was called “way too hard,” “borderline impossible,” and “a struggle,” with one player exclaiming that “this feels like my childhood days when I couldn’t beat a level cuz I was ass and a kid.” Another questioned, “Like, nobody playtested this, right? Because this is just f***ing absurd”.

One fight, in particular, has caused playersmore distress than most—Great Ape Vegeta. OneRedditorsaid, “Great Ape Vegeta can kindly go f**k himself. I don’t get how you’re supposed to beat him on normal difficulty,” while another shared that they “gave up, played and finished Gohan’s story and no other fight was nearly as hard as Great Ape Vegeta.”

Other fights that were dubbed as being especially difficult included Beerus, the Ginyu Force, and Raditz.

Although many have shared their frustration with Sparking Zero’s difficulty, others have expressed satisfaction, with worries that the game would be simplified assuaged following its release.
