Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerohas only been out for a few weeks, but it’s already making Episode Battles easier and nerfing one of the most broken characters - Yajirobe.
With a roster that’s packed with god-tier characterslike Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta, and Merged Zamasu (along with actual gods like Beerus), it’s pretty clear thatDragon Ball: Sparking Zero isn’t all that fussed about balance. That being said, there’s one unexpected character that’sdominating online matches right now and making them a living hell.
I am, of course, talking about the Bean Daddy himself, Yajirobe. While he might look unassuming and is really supposed to be a weaker character, his Senzu Bean Skill Move is totally broken and allows him to stay in fights for much longer than most characters in the game. While Budokai Tenkaichi has always had broken characters, it seems that Yajirobe might be a step too far.
Sparking Zero’s First Update Nerfs Yajirobe And Makes Episode Battles Easier
Over on Twitter, the official Dragon Ball Games account revealed that Sparking Zero’s first patch is coming later this monthand will change a number of things about the game. The most noteworthy patch note is an “adjustment of Yajirobe’s stats”, which will likely make him a lot weaker and reduce how effective his Senzu Bean is.
My bet is that they make his Senzu Beans only heal a bar of health instead of a full restoration. That, or he has a limited amount of them to consume in a match.
That’s going to be a god-send for anyone trying to play Sparking Zero online, but there’s some good stuff coming for single players as well. The undated update will also provide an “adjustment of difficulty levels” when playing certain stages in the game’s story mode, Episode Battle, when playing on lower difficulty settings.
Episode Battle is notorious for how surprisingly difficult it is at times (Great Ape Vegeta, I’m looking at you), so this will come as a good change for many. Beyond that, the update will also improve the game’s overall stability while online and will also fix a common issue that players were having with the classic control scheme.
