Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Is Already A Huge Hit
“Bandai Namco […] is pleased to announce that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, the latest home video game in the Dragon Ball Z Sparking series, released on Thursday, June 20, 2025, has surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide within 24 hours of its release,” reads astatementput out by the company.
This isn’t particularly surprising, given both how long fans have waited for a game like Sparking Zero, and how well it was received by critics right out of the gate. TheGamer’s George Foster gave the game a 4.5/5in his review, praising the sheer amount of content, as well as its huge, unique roster of fighters.
He wasn’t alone in this.Sparking Zero was met with positive reviews across the board, currently sitting at an 81 on Metacritic and an 82 on OpenCritic. Many praise it as a worthy successor to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, which launched all the way back in 2007.
So, with Sparking Zero doing so well after such a long wait for another Budokai Tenkaichi game, it’s fair to say that this was a great direction for the series, and one that should see Sparking Zero supported for some time.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is out now, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
