Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’slaunch has been special. The gametopped the Steam and PlayStation chartsahead of release, launched toamazing critical reception, and quickly became themost-played fighting game of all time.
But, for as fun as the game is, players have begun to report something terrifying — a bug that deletes your save file.
Sparking Zero Players Report Data Reset Bug
Athreadappeared on theDragon Ball: Sparking ZeroSubreddit overnight, in which one player shared they’d spent 71 hours in the game, reaching level 19, when the online menu started to glitch. After resetting theirPlayStation 5, they were greeted with theGoku vs Vegeta battle. After completing it and checking their progress, “everything was reset.”
Following the OP’s post, other players who had experienced similar began to rally. Onestatedthat it had appeared to their friend, while alevel 20player and amuch newer playeralso confirmed it had happened to them.
Speaking in the thread, the OP confirmed that everything disappeared, from their characters and skins to their online ranking. However, a conflicting report later emerged, with one player sharing that a friend had their data deleted, but their online rank remained the same.
While this is arguably the biggest gripe to date from the Sparking Zero community, the title has caused some other minor frustrations. Players have said that its customization “lacks drip,” and many found the game to be “way too hard,” earning a response from Bandai Namco themselves, telling them it’sokay tolower the difficulty. Thelack of mapshas also been a cause for concern amongst players, with one creating a mod thatallows split-screen to be played on every stage.
TheGamer has reached out to Bandai Namco to see if they are aware of the ongoing data deletion issue.
