Echoes of the Past is one of the earliest Outing quests you get inDragon Age: The Veilguard, which means it only features your Rook and the person the quest belongs to -in this case, Bellara. Many of the Outing quests in the game are walking simulators, butEchoes of the Past has some puzzle elements to it, which is where we come in.

Outing quests are non-combat, so you don’t need to worry about what weapons or skills to equip - justfind Bellara in the Arlathan Forest near the Ruins Reach Fast Travel Beacon, or justover the lake towards the Ruinsif you haven’t unlocked that Beacon yet. Interact with Bellara and the quest begins with a cutscene.

You can Flirt with Bellara in this scene if you are interested in pursuing a romance with her.

Find And Replace The First Set Of Power Crystals

When Bellara is tinkering inthe Artifact Vault, she will ask you to find two Power Crystals. The first one isdirectly behind her on her left, in the second alcove. Interact with it and take it back to her, and you’re halfway done.

After that, go to thefar corner of the lab on her right, where you’ll find the second Power Crystal floating there peacefully. Grab it and take it back to Bellara so her work can be completed.

Find And Replace The Second Set Of Power Crystals

As you head outside, there are some boxes immediately on the leftat the top of the stairs -smash them to reveal a Power Crystal.

Then you want togo up the small stone stepsin the far corner to get the next Power Crystal. Finally, climb the ladder just behind Bellara on the leftto find the last Power Crystal of this set.

Find And Replace The Third Set Of Power Crystals

This is likely why you’re here. While the first two sets are just a matter of wandering, the final two can be more tricky. First things first - move away from from Bellara andbash the beam to form a bridge. Walk over it,climb the ladder, grab the Power Crystal. Nice and easy.

Going through the door up the ladder gives you a Memento for the Caretaker, 40 Gold, and Pursuant’s Implements attire.

The next Power Crystal is across the same gap, but a wall stops you from getting to it. There’s also no similar beam to take you over. But there isa Power Crystal socket, sotake the Crystal you just got and make a bridge. Walk over, grab the Crystal, and take it to Bellara. Take the one in the socket over too, and you’re done.

However, that’s not quite the end of the quest. Go outside and talk to Bellara, where she’ll tell you abouther late brother Cyrian, who died in an accident Bellara still blames herself for. This in turn sets up one of Bellara’s personal arcs that you’ll revisit throughout Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Along with 500 XP, your reward for this quest is the Focussing Contraption, a Rare Keepsake for Bellara that gives her +24 percent Healing and reduces her Cooldowns by 10 percent, while taking ten seconds off companion Cooldowns when Bellara gets an Ability kill.
