Chasing Fatolich in theGrieving Ghost of the Gobletbounty hunt means venturing boldly into yet another ofMetaphor: ReFantazio’s optional dungeons. While there isn’t much variety in your foes here, the Guptauros are a royal wreck waiting to happen, and the Tomb of Lament itself is rather twisty and turny.
Follow our Tomb of Lament walkthrough for the full scoop on all that glistening treasure you’ve come to acquire, including another relic for Neuras. Our coverage will continue at the bottom of this page with an in-depth account of Fatolich itself, including its weaknesses and your overarching recommended strategy.
Notes
Pyrite Imitec
Weak to Wind. you may steal Blessed Water from them. Can hit pretty hard with Skull Cracker, so use Gold Attack to lower their number of actions per turn.
Guptauros
Take care to avoid its swings in the overworld; being ambushed by them is not good. Weaken them with Tarunda. Raises its Defense and Hit/Evasion quickly, and swings party-wide for physical damage with Slam Shatter. Weak to Pierce and Ice. The Wizard’s Blizza is effective. Steal a Knight’s Bracelet from them.
Within your first steps in this dungeon, aPyrite Imitecwill attempt to ambush you from theclosest room to the right. Avoid its spells during the overworld phase byleaping behind itto stun it.
At the end of this first corridor is afalse wallthat you may eventually lift, but for now, maintain course west. You can snag the blue item you saw on your way in,Superior Briny Light Armor, via acrawlspacealong the way.
That massive, hulking, enemy walking around up here is aGuptauros. The easiest way to stun it is to head into one of the small rooms and time your strikes. It packs quite a wallop when ambushing. Absolutely useTarundaon it.
Headdownstairsafter the Guptauros is either dodged or vanquished.
Twisting Alcoves
A secondGuptauroscan be seen lumbering ahead of you on your way in. Wait for it toturn aroundbefore approaching. Defeat it, but watch for thecrawlspace on the right side of the entry corridor. Follow it to the chest for the Gypsum Cube, a relic for Neuras.
Third and fourthGuptaurosprowl this area. Use those side rooms!
When thepath splits between north and east passages, head east first. There’s not much here but a little map-uncovering, butnote the staircase for later.
Now head north, and beware of thePyrite Imitecin the first alcove to your left.Continue northat the next fork, fetching the blue itemBroken Igniterwhile slashing weak enemies.
Thelower-leftsmall room leads to aGarnet. Themiddle-leftsmall room leads to a treasure chest with aSpider Lily Katana. At thetop-rightsmall room, there’s acrawlspace. Let’s take it. It leads to an appraisableBriny Threads.
While you’re dealing with those aforementioned weak enemies, they’ll gradually open the grates blocking them off from you. That’s how you can get the purifiableBlink Baselardsfrom the bottom-left small room.
When you’re all wrapped up looting this area, take the staircase on the east that you spotted earlier.
Flipping The Lever
Yet anotherGuptauroson your way in from the north here. Take theleft path(the right path has nothing). Watch for thePyrite Imitecin thefirst room.Thethird roomon the left has a blue item,Matterbreak Hammer.
Wrap around the south bend, and, in thisroom that’s southeast from the staircase you entered from, flip the lever on the bottom-left wall. Gosouththrough the newly-opened wall. Continuing south leads back to the entrance, sotake the first right.
Grab the tastyHero’s Fruitblue item, thenhead downastairs.
The Final Stretch
From the staircase, the path splits north and south; we’ll go south first.Beware this latestGuptaurosup ahead. Hopefully, by now, you’ve found your groove instunning themto mitigate their might.
After the left turn, take another leftfor aGraced Water. With that out of the way, follow the right path further north, but don’t miss thecrawlspace on the east wallfor anotherMindbreak Hammer.
TheGuptauroskeep coming. There arethree in this area; the first is along the path northward; the second’s further north from there; and the third’s to the southeast.
Let’s start from here byveering southeast down this side. But do take thecrawlspace into the small room near the top-left of the southeast side for a Gold Beetle!
If you continue along this route, you’ll reach acrawlspace at the north end of the next forkthat leads to aWhite Fortune Maskblue item, a purifiableCoral Guard Lance, and purifiableBone Crushers.
Alright, let’s go north now. The path will send youleft; climb the staircase here.Flip thenearby leverand proceed.
In thislast area, the blue item is aSuperior Briny Weapon. A nearbycrawlspaceleads to aPyrite Imitec- more importantly, asecond Gold Beetle.
