Most players would rightly consider merely making it to the end of a run inFrostpunk 2a worthy accomplishment. If you’ve gotten the hang of the game, though, and are looking for new ways to overcome the many dangers of Frostland, there are dozens of Achievements or Trophies to unlock.

Many of these awards can be earned through the course of normal play, but some especially tricky ones will require you to plan your run from the start, show exceptional skill, and get very lucky all at once. Are you up to the challenge?

General Achievements / Trophies

These awards can usually be earned just by playing the game.

Chancellor of the Exchequer

a rioter with a torch looks out over the generator district during the New London Civil War in Frostpunk 2.

Have a weekly income of 50 Heatstamps or higher.

Your Heatstamp income grows with your population. You can boost it further by passing Merit Laws and ensuring that your Goods Demand is met.

a settler arrives in the new city at the start of a utopia builder playthrough in frostpunk 2.

Lawmaker

Pass 20 Laws in a single playthrough.

New Laws are unlocked via theIdeas Tree.Laws have to be new in order to count, so you can’t just repeal and re-pass the same Law over and over.

New Oxbridge

Double the city’s starting Research Speed.

Having two Research Institutes is usually enough. If not, pass a Reason law like Harvesting Funerals to push your Research Speed over the threshold.

Settler

Establish 3 Colonies

You can usually get this award just by finishing a run in either Story Mode or Utopia Builder, as you’ll need Colonies to support the main city.

Sneak A Peek

See 10 different situations near a district hub.

When an event pops up in a district, use the magnifying glassin the district’s panel to zoom in on the street view before resolving the event.

Urban Planner

Have 10 Districts affected by Hubs at once.

Districts need to have at least three of their tiles within a Hub’s radius to gain its effect.

There Is No Final Design

Switch a Law to its opposite, then back again.

Be careful not to make the switch as part of a promise, or you’ll lose Trust when you swap back.

Story Mode Achievements / Trophies

These can be earned by progressing through the Story Mode campaign, though you’ll probably need multiple playthroughs to get them all.

See ourPrologue Guide.

No Lesser Evil

Complete the Prologue without harvesting the seals or banishing the Elders.

Keep your Food Districts running on Emergency Shifts the entire time, and implement Tighten Belts immediately.

Identically-dressed Technocrats in black trenchcoats, goggles, and shaved heads standing together in Frostpunk 2.

Bring It On!

Complete the Defeat The Frost or Embrace The Frost objectives before the Whiteout hits in Chapter Two.

See ourChapter Two Guidefor help getting the Generator upgraded in time.

Don’t Starve

Have no Hunger in New London for the entire duration of the Whiteout.

Stockpile as much Food as you’re able to beforehand, using the same principles as the Prologue.

Coredigger

Choose to Salvage Winterhome, then fully extract all Core Deposits before building the final Generator Upgrade.

Play on Citizen difficulty to keep the situation manageable.

Plumber

Choose to Settle Winterhome, then cap all three toxic vents before the first toxicity increase on Steward difficulty or higher.

Have enough population in New London that you may immediately send thousands of workers to Winterhome as soon as Chapter Four begins. Use Rapid Frostbreaking with no regard for safety and build the Fume Districts as quickly as possible. Pass Rule Laws like Bureau of Propaganda beforehand to keep things under control.

Moving Out

Banish the rebel faction in Chapter Five, then have them all leave willingly.

Build up the Windward Heath colony so that it meets all of the exiles' requirements before turning it over to them. Do not arrest or detain any rebels for deportation; if you do, the award will not unlock.

Peacemaker

Complete Chapter Five via the Path of Reconciliation

See ourChapter Five Guideto learn how to sign the Peace Accords.

Checks And Balances

Complete Story Mode on Captain difficulty without passing any Rule Laws.

Do your best to keep the opposition faction weak throughout the run, as you won’t be able to send guards to break up riots in the endgame.

The Temptations Of New London

Complete Story Mode on Steward Difficulty or higher.

This is only recommended after you’ve finished the game at least once on Citizen or, preferably, Officer.

The Demons Of New London

Complete Story Mode on Captain Difficulty.

You don’t need to also have Survivor Mode turned on - don’t try it.

Tips

Pork Barrel

Fulfill at least one promise to each of five different communities and/or factions in a single playthrough.

Only possible in Utopia Builder, as Story Mode only has two Communities and two Factions per campaign.

Ambitious

Win via each Ambition at least once.

Colonize the Frostland requires you to set up three colonies with 10k population each.

Build A Metropolis requires 50k population in the main city.

Secure A Utopia requires a massive stockpile of all resources.

All three Ambitions require that noProblemsbe present in the city in order to win.

We Are Not The Same

Encounter all eight Utopia Builder factions across any number of playthroughs.

Choose your early Laws, Ideas, and buildings to make sure that thefactions you’re missingspawn.

Primus Inter Pares

Complete the game without ever having Trust reach zero or Tension reach Catastrophic.

Use Rule Laws, Fighting Hubs, and Communication Hubs to maintain order.

Tension maxes out by default in Story Mode Chapter Five.

Likeable

Win without your relations dropping below Skeptical for any community or faction.

The opposition faction usually starts at Skeptical, so make overtures to them as soon as they appear,.

Impossible in Story Mode, but entirely feasible in Utopia Builder.

Isolationist

Complete a playthrough without gathering any resources from Frostland Outposts, Settlements, or Colonies

Choose a large, resource-rich map and play on Citizen. Obviously, the Colonize the Frostland Ambition is incompatible with this award.

Challenge Achievements / Trophies

These should all theoretically be possible in either Story Mode or Utopia Builder, but actually fulfilling their requirements may be easier said than done.

Adapted To Weather

Survive 20 consecutive weeks at -100ºC with Disease and Cold both absent.

Ensure that you go into a Whiteout with adequate Shelter and Fuel to ride it out.

Have over 50,000 population in Colonies and Settlements.

Fully upgrade all possible Settlements.

Bonfire

Trigger a Civil War, then end it without allowing it to spread through more than four districts.

Fairly easy to do with the war at the end of Story Mode.

Can’t Stop Progress

Have at least 1000 Material Demand and no Squalor.

Set up a Materials Colony to supply the bulk of your needs, and build Filtration Towers to handle any excess Squalor from other sources.

Avoid having the Technocrats in power, as they reduce Material Demand.

Consistency

Complete a playthrough without researching any ideas or passing any Laws with the opposite Cornerstone to one you already have.

A Civil War is all but guaranteed, as the opposition faction will have to be entirely ignored.

Firm, But Civil

Trigger a Civil War but end it before it results in any deaths.

Have plenty of Guard Squads ready to intervene when a faction rebels, and have them focus on protecting the populace.

FrostCity

Have a single district with at least five different area effects applied to it.

Surround the district with Hubs: Heating, Rail, Air Transport, Stockpile, and Maintenance should do the trick.

Green Power

Fulfill 300 or more Heat Demand using Geothermal Power and have no Squalor.

Requires a map with Geothermal nodes.

You need to actually use the steam to heat districts, not just produce it and not use it.

Idle Hands Are The Devil’s Playthings

Have a Workforce equal to at least 90% of the city’s total population.

Pass Merit Laws to increase the total Workforce ratio.

Construct Automated Workforce Factories to build Automatons and increase Workforce without also increasing population.

I Love Democracy

Pass Captain’s Authority with 100% of the vote.

Time the vote so that Tension and Trust are both high if possible, and use Guided Voting to shore up votes.

Law And Order

Have no Crime or Tension in the main city while its population is at least 30k.

Build lots of Watchtowers and Fighting Hubs, and make sure other Problems are manageable.

Megalopolis

Have 60k or more population in the main city.

Continue playing after winning via the Build A Metropolis Ambition in Utopia Builder.

Mixed Signals

Have a Rally and a Protest active at the same time.

Favor one faction while ignoring the other. Overseers/Bohemians are a good combination for this.

No Brainer

Pass a Law with 100% of the vote.

Use Guided Voting or make promises to every faction - even if you don’t intend to keep them.

Not On My Watch

Complete a playthrough with no avoidable deaths.

Play Utopia Builder on Citizen, take your time and be careful. Don’t take any event decisions that offer any degree of risk.

Paradise City

Maintain a population of 15k with all Problems absent for 50 consecutive weeks.

Chapter Three of Story Mode is the best time to attempt this, as there are no more Whiteouts.

Keep your promises, avoid casualties, and build Communication Hubs.

Power Overwhelming 2.0

Produce twice as much Heat as your city needs.

Fully upgrade the Generator, overproduce oil, then activate Overdrive to pop the Achievement/Trophy.

Quiet Backwater

Have a Colony with no problems worse than Minor for 300 consecutive weeks.

Keep the Old Dreadnought Colony supplied after the Whiteout in Story Mode. A Composites Factory lets them produce their own Materials, and in turn their own Goods, so all they need from New London is Food.

Revered Leader

Reach Devoted (gold) relations with all communities and factions.

Much easier in Utopia Builder, but not out of the question in Story Mode before Chapter Four.

Praise factions often, make and keep promises, and keep a balance with Cornerstones.

Steward Little

Have negative relations with all communities and factions.

Play badly on purpose, or repeatedly condemn every faction until they all riot.

Thank You For Your Feedback

Reject community requests five times in a single playthrough.

These events will pop up on their own, especially if the city is facing shortages.

To Each According To His Needs

Have 20k Heatstamps and 200k Goods stockpiled.

Continue playing after winning via the Secure Our Future Ambition on Utopia Builder.

Visionary

Research 60 Ideas within 600 weeks.

Pass Reason Laws to boost Research Speed, and have plenty of Research Institutes and Teaching Hospitals. Get the Technocrats to Rally for further Research Speed Boosts, and verify you always have enough Heatstamps to start a new research as soon as the old one finishes.
