Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6(BO6) has a wide depth to when it comes to every aspect of a loadout. There’s a consistent progression in unlocking new things to try out in your loadouts, and one of those things you’ll be unlocking for quite a while when starting out are new perks.

Perks might seem unrelated to Combat Specialties, but they’re actually integral to ensuring you actually have a Combat Specialty at all, as well as deciding which Combat Specialty you have active. These Combat specialties can dramatically affect your performance, and while you don’t necessarily need them, they are integral parts of certain builds.

Combat Specialties act as a special, extra-powerful fourth perk. There arethree different Combat Specialtiesthat we’ll detail below, but all three of them function differently and enable you to do very different things.

How To Unlock Combat Specialties

Unlocking Combat Specialties is extremely simple, but it does mean making some important decisions. Equipping a Combat Specialty isn’t as simple as choosing and equipping which one you want. There arethree different varieties of perksin each of the three perk slots:Recon,Enforcer, andStrategist.

This means you may need to sacrifice a certain perk you want to use in order to grab a Combat Specialty. Some builds will prioritize taking perks from different categories and forego including a Combat Specialty.

All Combat Specialties

All three Combat Specialties accentuate what the perks in that category already do, making for a build that has some clear cohesion.

Certain players are going to excel with builds of a certain type, but it’s going toreally depend on your playstylewhen it comes to whatCombat Specialty to prioritize.

The Ghost build requires, obviously, theGhostperk in your Perk 1 slot, theTrackerperk in your Perk 2 slot, and theVigilanceperk in your Perk 3 slot. These three perks combine to make italmost impossible to detect you with equipmentand ensure you can pull off enemy flanks by finding their footsteps.
