Every few monthsMagic: The Gatheringreleases a Secret Lair Superdrop and there’s never been a better time for Magic players who love collecting cool cards. These massive collections highlight fantastic Magic artists, crossovers with other games or films, or give artists a chance to interpret Magic cards in their own styles.

The Camp Totally Safe Secret Lair Superdrop includes seven different Drops, bringing together three Universes Beyond collections, some delightful interpretations of some of Magic’s most terrifying monsters, and some very cool folk art versions of powerful blue cards.

The prices of these cards come from TCGplayer’s Market Place based on the lowest value of regular printings of the cards and are subject to change over time.

8Tome of the Astral Sorceress

Non-Foil $8.91 // Foil $22.48

The most stylistic of the Secret Lairs, the Tome of the Astral Sorceress is also the smallest at just four cards. This Secret Lair is illustrated by Helvetica Blanc, a contemporary folk artist and illustrator who brought her enchanting style to Magic.

There are some great cards in this drop, including Sphinx of the Second Sun and Back to Basics, which can do some shenanigans in Commander. If you find yourself drawing plenty of cards, you should pick up Teferi’s Ageless Insight to give your deck a stylish upgrade.

7Secret Lair x Chucky

Non-Foil $13.63 // Foil $76.19

The first of the Universes Beyond releases in The Camp Totally Safe Superdrop, this one based on the murderous serial killer doll, Chucky from the Child’s Play series. This horror icon has been interpreted in five cards, with Chucky himself being Kardur, Doomscourge, and effectively goads all your opponent’s creatures when he comes into play.

Also joining Chucky is his wife, Tiffany, who takes the role of Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire, coming with a tutor on her anytime she attacks.

6Monstrous Magazines

Non-Foil $15.25 // Foil $33.53

A very cool Secret Lair inspired by classic horror magazine artwork and style, the Monstrous Magazines collection brings five of the nastiest creatures in Magic together in a very cool retro-themed throwback.

All the artwork for this Secret Lair is done by Ed Repka, who takes iconic creatures like Doom Whisperer and Koma Cosmos Serpent and brings their terrifying design front and center.

Koma, Cosmos Serpent comes with a fairly big error. Koma is printed with “At the beginning of your upkeep” instead of “At the beginning of each upkeep”. Despite this print error, it still triggers each turn.

5Secret Lair x Ghostbusters: The Real Ghostbusters

Non-Foil $18.22 // Foil $76.48

Based on The Real Ghostbusters animated show, this Universes Beyond Secret Lair brings five cards, one reprint, and four reskinned cards to match themes and scenes from the show.

There are some cute references like the Ghostbuster’s Patch being a reskinned Boros Charm, which is pretty fitting. The reskinning of the Ecto-1 as Unlicensed Hearse is fantastic, a perfect reimagining of theclassic Ghostbuster vehicle in the game.

4Featuring: Peach Momoko

Non-Foil $22.38 // Foil $37.83*

Five cards come in the Featuring: Peach Momoko Secret Lair. The comic book artist is an Eisner and Ringo Award winner, bringing her expressive and intricate style tosome of the best blue spells in the game.

The artwork for Time Sieve is particularly impressive, with a woman whose face is a reflection of itself, one seemingly dead and the other alive. All the cards are in black and white, creating a stunning contrast with the blue frame and border of the cards.

The foil price is a little off here, as Drown in Dreams has never been printed as a foil card before.

3Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Electric Entourage

Non-Foil $22.63 // Foil $90.82

Hatsune Miku’s third Universes Beyond Secret Lair drop brings together some of her other Character Vocal Series including Luka, KAITO (not that Kaito, but a new one), Len and Ren together, and two Miku cards.

Strangely, KAITO is a Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, not one of the three different Kaito planeswalkers. While none of the planeswalkers here are particularly valuable, the artwork of all of them is gorgeous and would make a great upgrade for any deck.

2Showcase: Duskmourn

Non-Foil $23.92 // Foil $55.48

Duskmourn has taken players to a plane of nightmares beyond what Magic has ever seen, so this Secret Lair brings you back to the hellish world with some iterations on what cards from other planes might look like.

There are some terrifying versions of some prolific Magic cards, like the Phyrexian Metamorph, which is some horrible combination of flesh and metal. Interestingly, the Phyrexians were never able to invade Duskmourn thanks to some demonic powers with the House, so this is the first time we see a Phyrexian on the plane.

1Secret Lair x Ghostbusters: Slimer

Non-Foil $32.63 // Foil $113.59*

The final Secret Lair is another Universes Beyond one and has a little caveat to it. Much like the Featuring: Peach Momoko Secret Lar, Incarnation Technique has never been printed in foil before, so the price is a bit off when it comes to what the total of the foil version could be.

Trickbind has only had one printing, all the way back in Time Spiral, so even a regular copy of the card is worth half the Secret Lair price all on its own.
