There are four different types of Fishing Bait in Throne and Liberty, and each of them is obtained in different ways. Some of these Fishing Baits you’ll need to purchase, others you’ll need to craft, and for the rest you’ll need to grind for in the open world.

How To Get Every Type Of Fishing Bait

Every Fishing Bait excels in a different thing, aside from the Paste Bait that you can get in abundance.Most baits attract a certain size of fish, so if you’re looking to catch something in particular,using theright kind of baitis going to make your life much easier.

Paste Bait

Paste Bait is obtained bypurchasing and opening a Fishing Bait Chest from aContract Coin Merchantfor 20 Contract Coins. Opening this Fishing Bait Chest will net you50 Paste Baitevery time. you’re able to only purchaseone Fishing Bait Chest per dayfrom the Contract Coin Merchant, but 50 bait is quite a lot, and it’s not a very steep price if you’re keeping up on your Contracts.

The other way to acquire Paste Bait is topurchase it with Ornate Coinsin the shop; these Ornate Coins can be earned without too much trouble, but unless you’re doing a lot of fishing, you aren’t going to need to obtain it this way. This Paste Baitdoes not attract any particular variety of fish, and is the variety of bait you’ll likely be using more than any other because of how easy it is to obtain.

Worm Bait

Worm Bait isgathered from both Star Trees and Fruit Star Treesthat you may harvest around the world. They have a fairly regular drop rate, and aren’t too difficult to get a steady supply of provided you’re in an area that has plenty of these trees, likeany of the forests. This type of fishing baitcannot be purchased.

Worm Bait has ahigher chance of attracting medium-sized fish, like the Amberjack, the Lanquis Barracuda, and the Taion Moray Eel.

Shrimp Bait

Shrimp Bait isgathered from most of the creatures that dwell near the sea, including varieties ofCrabs, Lobsters, and Chestaceans. If you’re looking togather some Salt, you’ll already be in these areas grinding these same creatures, and you’ll usually be lucky enough to gather a bit of both, though typically more Shrimp Bait than Salt.You can’t purchase this bait.

Using Shrimp Bait,you’ll be more likely to grab smaller-sized fish, like the Banded Butterflyfish, the Arowana, and the Ballan Wrasse.

Fish Fillet Bait

The Fish Fillet Bait is theonly bait that you’re able to craft, and you do so bydissolving fish from your inventorythat you’ve already caught. This is a pretty straightforward way to ensure you get to keep fishing; catch fish, make more bait, and catch more fish. As a bonus, dissolving fishalso gains you Uncommon Fish Oil, which isused in certain cooking recipes. This type of fishing baitcannot be purchased.

If you want to catch larger-sized fish, like the Barracuda and the Solisium Carp, the Fish Fillet Bait is what you need.
