Throughout your journey inBlack Myth: Wukong, you’ll encounter a wide array of boss battles, each presenting its own set of challenges, attack patterns, and level of difficulty. When you’re not locked in these intense confrontations, you’ll be exploring vast regions in search of valuable loot and resources.
As you explore these diverse areas, you’ll meet a variety of characters and NPCs. Some will lend you a hand, while others will ask for your help, offering rewards in return. The Horse Guai quest is likely to be one of your earliest undertakings, and although it spans the entire game, the rewards make it well worth pursuing.
This is a missable quest!
How To Start The Horse Guai Quest
The Horse Guaiis one of the very first characters you can encounter in the game and is easily missed.
From theBamboo Grove - Back Hills Keeper’s Shrine, head down andtake a left to enter the cavewhere you’ll findthe Horse Guai character sitting in the corner. Interact with him andmake sure to exhaust all his dialogue to initiate the quest.
This quest involves locating the Horse Guai in four different locations across various chapters and exhausting all his dialogue.
If you miss him in one location and progress to the next chapter without speaking to him,you will be locked out of the quest and won’t be able to complete it.
How To Complete The Horse Guai Quest
Horse Guai Location In Chapter Two
From theSandgate Village - Village Entrance Keeper’s Shrine, turn back and cross the wooden bridge. You’ll see a door in front of you that cannot be opened from this side, sotake a detour around to the right.
Just before reaching the door you saw earlier,you’ll find the Horse Guai trapped near a statue. Be sure to exhaust all his dialogue options.
Horse Guai Location In Chapter Three
From theNew Thunderclap Temple - Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine, proceed inside the building andtake the stairs on the left side. Move west by descending the stairs and thencontinue straight into the next building in front of you.
Inside, you’ll find stairs to your right; climb them to reach the upper floor. From there,head left to the wooden bridge where the Horse Guai is standing by one of the pillars. Be sure to talk to him and exhaust all his dialogue.
Horse Guai Location In Chapter Four
From theWebbed Hollow - Middle Hollow Keeper’s Shrine,drop down from the ledge to the right of the shrineand follow the path straight ahead until you reach the arena where you fightCentipede Guai.
After defeating it,follow the torch-marked path at the back of the arenaand continue forward until youspot a giant cocoon.Hit the cocoon a few timesto trigger a cutscene where the Horse Guai will be freed.
Once freed,you’re able to speak to the Horse Guai and exhaust all his dialogue.
Horse Guai Location In Chapter Five
From theFurnace Valley - Valley Entrance, proceed ahead andmake your way down until you reach the lava level. Navigateto the right side while avoiding the damaging lava.
Eventually,you’ll spot a cart surrounded by enemies. Deal with the enemies first, theninteract with the cart by pulling the string coming out of it. The Horse Guai is trapped here and will speak to you.
Don’t forget to exhaust all his dialogue options.
Final Step
Now that you’ve found the Horse Guai in all his locations,complete Chapter Five. After finishing Chapter Five,return to the last location where the Horse Guai was trapped inside the cart.
Interact with the cartand pull the string, which will now displayPull Forcefully. Doing so will complete the Horse Guai quest and reward you with theDark ThunderTransformation.
