You may only be five years old, but inShin-Chan: Shiro And The Coal Town, you’ve got a lot to do. You’ve got people to talk to, missions to complete, places to explore, and the childhood classic of catching bugs. There are all sorts to catch, from beetles to butterflies, and they aren’t just for show either.
You’ll need several to complete sub-missions or achievements, and any one of them might be requested for a trade offer on the bulletin boards. You’ll want to keep several of each in your inventory in case you need them for something, but you’ll have to do a bit of exploring to find them all.
All Insect Locations
There are atotal of 44 different insectsyou can find throughout the game, with thevast majorityof them beingnative to Unbent Villageand found there as well.
Theability to log theminto the Nature Compendium isunlocked once you completethe main mission,The Young Lady And Her Book, and obtain the compendium itself.
Each time youget Kazuko to add a new entry, you’ll bepaid a small amount of Yenby her, and you canget paid until you add all 44 insect entriesinto the book.
Four different insectscan also start showing up in Coal Townin certain areas after you’ve completed the main mission, Public Bath Is Ready, and a few days have passed.
Initially, you’ll only have access to a few of them, but as youcomplete certain sub-missions, you’ll end upunlocking different areasof the village, giving youmore insects to catchand making somebecome available in new locations.
Insects canoccasionally come with a King Size, indicating them as being the biggest size available. They’refound randomly when you catch an insectbutaren’t found in a specific location, and youdon’t need a specific methodto find or catch them.
The King Size Hunter achievementcounts both fish and insectsand doesn’t require you to specifically find King Size insects only.
The King Sizesonly matterforone of Ace’s sub-missionswhere he requests you catch andbring him any ten of them, and theKing Size Hunter achievement.
