There are a total of six chapters you can play through inBlack Myth: Wukong, each featuring a unique region to explore. These regions are filled with enemies and numerous bosses to defeat, and offer opportunities to discover new materials, gear, and characters to encounter and assist with their quests.

Each chapter includes a secret area that you’re able to unlock, with different requirements for each. Some require completing a quest, while others involve other conditions. These secret areas are optional, but unlocking all of them will reveal the game’s secret ending.

Chapter One Secret Area

Ancient Guanyin Temple

The secret area in Chapter One is among the easiest to unlock, as it requires you tointeract with three bells, two of which are on the main progression path. After ringing all three bells, you will be teleported to the secret area known asAncient Guanyin Temple.

Here, you’ll find several chests to loot and behind the door ahead, you will need todefeat the Elder Jinchi. Once defeated, you’ll obtain the first vessel in the game, theFireproof Mantle.

Chapter Two Secret Area

Kingdom Of Sahali

The second secret area in the game is theKingdom of Sahali, found in Chapter Two. In this region, you’ll encounterthe drunken boar north of the Rockrest Flat shrine. Complete his quest until you face him in battle.

After defeating him, a cutscene will show the drunken boar heading through a gate in the same area where you fought him.Follow him through the gateto reach the secret area, where you candefeat the Fuban bossand acquire the second Vessel, theWind Tamer.

Chapter Four Secret Area

In order to unlock thePurple Cloud Mountain secret area in Chapter Four, you simply need to complete the Venom Daoist quest by finding him in two different locations and defeating him in both.

Bishui Cave secret area - Black Myth Wuykong

Chapter Five Secret Area

Bishui Cave

Another secret area requiring an NPC quest isBishui Cavein Chapter Five. To access it,complete the Five Element Carts quest, which you can start early in Chapter Fiveafter meeting the Pale-Axe Stalwart.

He will ask for your help inlocating five mysterious carts scattered throughout the region.

When you reach the final cart, theRusty-Gold Cart, you’ll see a large gate behind it. All that’s left to do isdefeat the cart to gain access to the gate.

Chapter Three Secret Area

Mount Mei

You might be wondering why the secret area in Chapter Three is the last one and this is because in order to access it,you need to have completed all previous secret areas from Chapters One, Two, Four, and Five,as well as theTreasure Hunter questline.

By completing the secret area, you must defeat the final boss of each secret area until you are teleported out.

Afterward,head to the Great Pagodalocated in Chapter Three. Start from thePagoda Realm - Snow-Veiled Trailand follow the path down the left side of the shrine.

When you see the bridge,cross itand continue following the path untilyou reach a large gate. Approach it to enter the Great Pagoda.

If done correctly, once inside,you’ll find a character up the stairs. Interact with them to trigger a cutscene that will teleport you to the secret area calledMount Mei.
